There is nothing left in mystery as far as last day events are concerned. One thing we may sure of is that there will never again be a message to the people of God that will be based on time, whether prophetic or literal time. The last prophecy based on time ended with the 2,300 day prophecy. For more info on this, see 1.S.M.188.

Secondly, 1798 marked the beginning of the time of the end. At that time the papal power received a deadly wound at the hand of Atheistic France, the sixth head of Revelation 17, but that wound is to be healed with the help of the seventh head, Apostate Protestantism, which will give its power to the papacy. The eighth which is of the seven is, of course, the papal power which was, is not, and is again.

When Sunday shall be enforced making void the law of God in the land, the sins of Babylon will have reached unto heaven and the message Babylon the great is fallen will then become present truth.

This will coincide with the loud cry to the world and when the mission of the Gospel shall be completed the people of God will face the great final test and only those who successfully pass this test can pass the scrutiny of the judgment of the living and they will receive the final seal and be ready to go through the time of Jacob's trouble and be translated without seeing death.

Henry, the Day of Atonement starts at sunset on October 7, which technically would be October 8. The reason I say this is

in the early morning of June 19, 2011, I heard this in my mind, much like you "hear" yourself read when you read silently to yourself, "The Almighty comes October 8". At the time I did not know when the Day of Atonement was this year.

I don't have long to wait to see whether or not it was all in my head.:)

Since we do not yet know the day or the hour that the Lord will declare as a sound of thunder, the best we can say is that the time of the 3rd angel's message is at hand. The mark of the beast will soon be the law of the land. we need to get our houses in order for that which is soon to be and be ready to meet our God.

And that would explain why in the end there will be a small remnant of people who will see eye to eye until they are translated without seeing death.

It sounds good, but with human view we see vast fields of wheat when God sees but chaff.

So is the wheat and the chaff in one accord and very cozy until they are separated? Or is it only wheat or only chaff in that accord?

Peter put it well: 2Pe 3:17 "Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness."

And since I know that prophetic time continued after 1844 (not giving the time of Christ's Advent, but things that intervene in the interval) and that Daniel and Revelation explains themselves and the intervening time by their fulfillment, I fear that those who have not kept up with Bible truths and prophecy will be more vulnerable in the last conflicts. In fact, if they do not understand that we are at the time when the Third angel's message is about to be realized, they may be come confused on the Scriptures and be deceived by Mr. Obama when he fulfills that which is foretold of him.

So lest we get too comfortable in that accord, we need to be sure that it is the Heaven bound model rather than the one on the broad highway that slopes so gently downward toward the abyss.

One good thing has come from this thread.

As I have followed it, from post to post, no one has given Scripture or Spirit of Prophecy evidence to refute the basic conclusions:

1) prophetic time as used in the Spirit of Prophecy refers to the day and hour of Christ's Advent

2)The spirit of prophecy cites prophetic time after 1844 that is to transpire before Christ returns so EGW is not contradicting herself but that there is a controverted view that has changed her words to be the opposite of what she intended

3)There is prophetic time after 1844 in the interval leading up to Christ's Advent

4)"Our position" is not the world's position. Our position is that Prophetic time gives the day and the hour of Christ's Advent. The world's position is one that lumps all prophetic time together.

In light of what I have posted, EGW is not contradicting herself. thus she must be saying:'I have borne the testimony since the passing of the time in 1844 [when Christ did not come], that there should be no definite time set [for the Second Advent] by which to test God's people. The great test on time [relating to the hour of Christ's Advent] was in 1843 and 1844; and all who have set time [for the appearing of Christ] since this great period marked in prophecy, were deceiving and being deceived.' {LS88 221.1}

That is the correct meaning of what she said. Or she is contradicting herself and the Bible when she gives an example of prophetic time that intervenes between 1844 and Christ's Advent. Certainly if she had intended us to believe that there is NO prophetic time to intervene between 1844 and Christ's Advent whether it is the 42-months of Rev 13:5 or the 1260, 1290, or 1335-days of Daniel 12, she would not have cited any examples of prophetic time in that interval.

It does not appear that Ellen White left us any room at all for calculating some specific number of days or months that must transpire before the 2nd coming. We know of prophetic events that have not yet happened - but we have no specific time that each event must take.

This is why Ellen White kept saying things like "soon none know how soon the judgment will pass to the cases of the living". Clearly she said there are future events coming - but never said we would have a timeline as in the 2300 year example for mapping them out.

The closest she ever came to a timeline was when she said "There are some people in this room who will be alive" and remain until the 2nd coming. Then later she said that just as Israel went through 40 years in the wilderness - so the Adventist "may have to remain for many more years due to insubordination".

After 1844 the prophetic timeline could not be seen before the fact, i.e., we could not understand the prophetic timeline to predict specific events to transpire during the interval between 1844 - the present, but now that the time has been fulfilled; we can follow the fulfilled timeline quite precisely. And the timeline that has been fulfilled points to the fact that the Mark of the beast is to be upon us at any moment.

The timeline relating to present events now that Daniel and John have been fulfilled identify several specific events in recent history

1) The decree to rebuild Jerusalem has been repeated

(Jerusalem being teaching of peace) 31 May 1998

2) the endtime prince f the covenant (counterfeit) was anointed on the very day this prophecy indicated.

3) he failed as predicted

4) he confirmed the covenant with many for 1 week

5) in the midst of that week, he set up the abomination that makes desolate by casting down Christ's sacrifice and the oblation

6)The endtime meaning of the daily was clearly set forth as a continual

7) 1290-days after the counterfeit prince was to fail, the daily was taken away

8) 45-days later it was confirmed that this application to Daniel's endtime prophecy was true! Thus the blessing is to those who have understanding.

9) It will be 2300-days since the 1335-days ended just before Yom Kippur this year (2011)

If these 9 points (and I could have cited many others) are not understood in relation to God's timeline now that Daniel and Revelation have been fulfilled and they are; what more could God do to warn us of the impending danger that is to be upon us at any moment?

I have to admit - I have no idea as to what events you are talking about.

But consider this by contrast.

When Dan 9 talks about the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the decree regarding that event - even in all the Christian world today - with as much confusion and division about the exact date for starting the 490 years -- the one thing that everyone agrees with is that we are talking about an event in the 5th century B.C and that the timeline must bring us down to some point in time to the life of Christ in the first century A.D.

In other words - the whole thing is not buried in a mystical spiritual symbolic mist. The event at the start - the life of Christ the Messiah on earth as the ending event and a timeline that must cover more than 480 years at the very least is all very clear - even among those who differ on some of the details.

By contrast - I am not certain that any event or any point in your timeline above is clearly seen by anyone. What method do you use to clarify the point objectively?

The good news is that your uncertainty is not universal. Those that have taken the time to study the issues attest that the timeline I offered is not only accurate, but important for Christians to understand.

To you it is accurate cause you make it fit, the Bible can be made to say anything if it is taken out of context.

Thus for you to begin this study saying To you it is accurate cause you make it fit, the Bible can be made to say anything if it is taken out of context, have judged the matter before hearing it and when the matter is heard, what will it benefit you; seeing that your mind is made up before the fact?

I have not judged the matter before hearing it I have read your posts and you make your interpretation fit you use your own words and current history and make it fit

Some people hear, but hear not.

The world considers all prophetic time as the same thing, but our position is that prophetic time as used in the Spirit of prophecy refers only to the day and hour of Christ's coming.

Thus for you to not be able to discern the difference between our position and the world's position makes it difficult for you to understand the fine points of this discussion. Already you have confused our position with the worlds and erred in your conclusion.

It looks like you are presenting a straw man argument. Confusing the issue then knocking down you preposterous understanding and thus by this effort proving that the erroneous point that your position promotes is indeed false and then trying to link a rejection of your false position to a rejection of truth that you try to link wit your error.

Convoluted reasoning. Not worthy of a truth seeker. Worthy of one that has an agenda to cast their shadow over truth that they have determined not to accept.

If you have Scripture or Spirit of Prophecy evidence that you believe confirms your wild assertions: present it. Let us consider the facts as you view them from the word of God.

Truth withstands scrutiny and is all the better for it.

If I have misunderstood you motives, your comments, or your intent, please accept my sincere apology. But if what I have stated in regard to your intent, be assured that God is not mocked. His word means what He says it means and those that study His word with a sincere heart will find the truth because He has promised that His word will not return to Him void, but it will accomplish that to which He sends it.

Bob this is a great starting point to understand prophetic time from 1844 through to the Advent of Jesus.

But before I answer your question directly, (I did some house cleaning on this topic relating to some posts that did not appear to be genuinely interested in the subject) there needs to be an understanding on God's timeline.

From your reading of the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy, how long is God going to let the sin question continue? Is there any indication that it will be limited to x-years?

Within that timeline, my response to your great question will make more sense.

Be blessed of the Lord

2) the endtime prince of the covenant (counterfeit) was anointed on the very day this prophecy indicated.

[The Bible is TRUE. Not only was Daniel written 600-years before Christ, but the God that knew about the timing of Christ's Advent also knows about endtime events that will be as they were prophesied. How will this knowledge affect the dispensationalist's misunderstanding of Scripture when truth is presented in its right setting? Will many be released from the error that is them when the truth is known?]

3) he failed as predicted

4) he confirmed the covenant with many for 1 week

5) in the midst of that week, he set up the abomination that makes desolate by casting down Christ's sacrifice and the oblation [At that time Apostate Protestantism took the driver's seat in American politics.]

6)The endtime meaning of the daily was clearly set forth as a continual [all those arguments about the daily laid to wrest. At last SDA's can have time to share the gospel with a dying planet instead of wasting time on meaningless discussions that don't go anywhere.]

7) 1290-days after the counterfeit prince was to fail, the daily was taken away

8) 45-days later it was confirmed that this application to Daniel's endtime prophecy was true! Thus the blessing is to those who have understanding.

[We are at the time of the end. It is hear, but it will be an overwhelming surprise to many including SDA's]

9) It will be 2300-days since the 1335-days ended just before Yom Kippur this year (2011)[When Jesus entered the Sanctuary in 1844, it was not cleansed. Yes the process was begun, but when He leaves it, the Sanctuary will be cleansed.]

hch, could you please take the time to devote a single post, perhaps, to discuss in detail each one of these points individually?

Instead of using "he," tell exactly who you are talking about. Please also show us how you come up with the time periods you're referring to and why you apply them as you do.

Am very interested. Thank you in advance. :-)

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
