Green Cochoa Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Samie, I'm glad you trust the Bible. How then do you accept the following prophecy in Daniel? 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 9:25 Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Green Cochoa Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Samie, You have skipped two or three chapters ahead in the Book of Daniel, to a point which indeed does reference the period of time just prior to Jesus' second advent. However, within the selfsame chapter which includes the prophecy I asked you about, we find the following. 9:1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; 9:2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Tell me, do you believe there will be seventy years of captivity just prior to Jesus' coming? (The word is "desolations" here, but Daniel was studying the prophecy of Jeremiah which refers specifically to the Jews' exile and captivity in Babylon.) If not, how do you make a case for applying your interpretation within the proper time context that Daniel gives it? Blessings, Green Cochoa. Quote

Samie Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Never use an historians account of a date to override a thus saith the Lord or an inspired account of a messenger of the Lord. If the Bible says that the woman stopped attending to the body of Jesus because of the Sabbath commandment, then he died on Friday. Quote
Samie Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 ... it doesn't matter if the passover preparation day was the same day as the weekly Sabbath preparation day, for we know from the account in Luke that the women did not prepare Jesus' body immediately after His death because of the prohibition of all work enjoined by the weekly Sabbath commandment- which Sabbath was about to begin at sunset. "if the passover preparation day was the same day as the weekly Sabbath preparation day" then, Passover Sabbath coincided with the weekly Sabbath in that paschal week. But I have already shown HERE in this post that the belief in a weekly Sabbath coinciding with the Passover Sabbath is a myth. Quote

Samie, All you have shown me is that you do not want to believe the account of Luke 23:56 thru Luke 24:1. You cannot bring yourself to admit that the 7th day Sabbath was beginning the evening after Crist's death as the inspired account of Luke so clearly states. Anyone who does not want to consider all other gospel accounts will have the same conclusion you have now. I was in your position for a long, long time before. The Scriptures you presented which are likewise utilized in my posts were all taken together and considered in my posts. But I cannot, and do not impose my position on anybody in this forum. All I can say is that all attempts at refuting my position were all adequately addressed with relevant biblical, astronomical, and historical basis. I stand on solid ground, securely anchored in the infallible Word of God, the Holy Bible. And I have done my part to tell others who are now in the same position I was before. I feel it my solemn duty to present the truth as it is in Scriptures. In Christ, Samie Quote
Samie Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, God had set a time for the incarnation of Jesus , and when scripture mentions "the fulness of the time was come" it is telling us there is a set time for this event and it is knowable through scripture. Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Does anyone really thing God would not reveal to His servants the prophets the time of Christ's coming? Daniel was the prophet to reveal when the fulness of the time was to come. The 2300 day prophecy with the first 70 weeks set aside for the Jewish nation is clear for all to see. There is no other time prophecy in all of scripture that reveals the anointing, and death of Christ. Daniel 9: 24--27, as quoted by Green Cochoa in a previous post is so clear and concise in its depiction of these events that only the most stiff necked would argue against it. But they who do argue against it, do so not because they are seeking truth, but because they are looking for an escape from having to accept the event to transpire at the end of the entire 2300 day prophecy. Yes, the investigative judgment and the antitypical final atonement beginning in 1844 is what is most damning to their theories of final atonement at the cross and "in Christ at the cross" and no investigative judgment and no subsequent final atonement.. The 2300 day prophecy beginning in 457 BC most be attacked at any cost, even if it means turning scripture on its head. No Scripture-turning done by this poster, Bro jackson. Sorry, but your accusation is a lie. You believe that 457 BC is the start of 2300 day prophecy. You are believing in a myth, brother. I have shown from Scriptures that it really is. Have you read this post ? All issues Bro Green raised relative to my posts were all adequately addressed. Green Cochoa Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Samie, You are, unfortunately, in error. The more you teach that error to others, the greater will be the burden of your guilt in the judgment day. Furthermore, it is impossible to please God with error. The truth and the glory of God are inseparable; it is impossible for us, with the Bible within our reach, to honor God by erroneous opinions. Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right. But the life is molded by the faith. If light and truth is within our reach, and we neglect to improve the privilege of hearing and seeing it, we virtually reject it; we are choosing darkness rather than light. {GC 597.2} Quote

Gibs Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Hey Gerhard, if it had been the eve before Passover, Christ would not have been on the cross, He had celebrated it and established the last supper in it's place. They did this on the true 15'th of Nisan a Thursday for us, it was then on the true 16'th of Nisan He hung on the cross and was dead before sundown and needed not His legs to be broken. The Babylonian method of month determination by the other Jews was on their Passover the false 15'th of Nissan which was actually two days late and their Friday also was two days late. Their Passover was actually on the true Seventh day Sabbath. They were at fault because the month had actually began two days sooner! So again this is truth. Joh 19:31 ¶ The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Joh 19:32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. Joh 19:33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: This was the preparation day for the Seventh day Sabbath, not the Passover. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The scripture declares it to be an high day for the simple reason it was the true Seventh day Sabbath. But not starting the month of Nissan right but it was Passover for the Babylonian method of reckoning the first day of the month, which was in error, two days late. So for them the Passover fell with the Holy Sabbath day. A feast Sabbath falling with the Holy Sabbath of God was called an high day. Jesus and the Jews with Him did not fall in this error. The Babylon method reckoning ones were not in error it seems of the Holy Sabbath of God as it is recurring although there is some today that fall into error of keeping the seventh day one of a moon reckoned month each month and so they do not keep a continually recurring Sabbath to God. Sometimes these have 9 days to the next 7'th day Sabbath they keep to the Lord. We live in a world folks that has been all mixed up since get go and sin came in. His Word is right, His Spirit is needed to get it right in the noggin. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Gerhard, what you are not catching is the fact that all the Jews kept the true seventh day Sabbath, those with Christ and those not with Him. Now it is a different story of Passover, those not with Him calculated the beginning of a new month by the sighting of seeing the first sliver of a new moon, not realizing they had made some months too long and some too short. This particular year the month of Nisan was started two days too late and so the 15'th of Nissan fell two days late of the actual time for it. Their Passover then consequently fell on the Holy Seventh day Sabbath. Jesus and those with Him had kept Passover two days before and then eliminated Passover and set up the last supper in it's stead. Passover was to be fulfilled the next day and was. The true Passover day was two days before the one the Jews not of Him celebrated. Jesus died on our Friday, Nissan 16 before sundown, the preparation day. Yes two Passovers were kept in those days and once in a while as much as 3 days apart. Adventism is correct on this as is Jackson and others who have posted in this thread. 1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Gibs Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Paul in his travels run into the fact that two Passovers were kept by the Jews, I at present do not have the scriptures in mind so will not bother as it would not change a mind made up. The account of Jesus and His kept Passover two days before the others really is all the proof needed. You see the Babylonian method of finding the start of the month made them two days later. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Gibs Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Gerhard, if the Jews not with Christ had of accepted His last Passover and instituted the last supper in it's place they would no longer be keeping it. He did away with Passover that night, He fulfilled it when He died on the cross, but they went ahead and observed it two days later on the Holy Sabbath. The calendar you posted is the Babylonian method of reckoning the month and will check it against the one I can come up with. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Gibs Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I think the calendar you have posted is mostly correct but not labeled correctly Jesus died alright by it in the day part of Friday, 16'th of Nisan and the counting of a partial day is inclusive, so 16'th of Nisan, Friday is counted as day one, then Jesus did rest the full Day of the Holy Sabbath, Nisan, 17'th. and so is truly the only full day. Then He arose just at sunup Nisan 18'th, Sunday and so it is counted day three by the inclusive counting that was used in those days. Scripture evidence from all the writers of this event in the scripture make it clear that He did not spend 3 FULL DAYS AND NIGHTS IN THE GRAVE! Jesus did not die the day before Passover, He kept it and instituted the last supper in it's stead. Lu 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: Lu 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. Lu 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: Lu 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. Lu 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Lu 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Then the Lord's Supper was to be done in the place of Passover. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Samie Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Christ could not have eaten Passover in AD 30, Gibs. That will be against what are recorded in Scriptures. You believe in what Protestants believe that Christ was crucified in April 30 AD? Is it possible that Christ could have been crucified in April 30 AD? We will now test whether this belief is factual based on two incontrovertible Biblical facts: 1. Christ ate Passover on a full moon night, a day ahead of the Jewish national celebration of Passover. 2. He must have spent 3 Passovers during His earthly ministry after His baptism. (see John 2:13; 6:4; 11:55) If it passes the 2 Tests above, the belief is true, otherwise, it is a myth. For Christ to have been crucified Friday in April 30 AD, His eating of Passover must fall on Thursday night. But did full moon occur on Thursday night in April 30 AD? The answer is Yes. Full moon occurred April 6, 30 AD. Test #1, Passed. But how about Test #2? If Jesus' last Passover was in April 5, 30 AD, then, that must necessarily be the 3rd Passover in His earthly ministry after His baptism. It is therefore necessary to ascertain the year of His baptism and see whether He has attended 3 Passovers, the last being the Passover in 30 AD. Luke records that Jesus was baptized on the 15th year of Tiberius’ reign as Emperor (see Luke 3:1, 21). History has it that Tiberius started his reign 14 AD. His 15th year therefore is 28 AD. There is then no escaping that in consonance with Scripture specification, Christ was baptized in 28 AD, the 15th year of Tiberius’ reign. But do Scriptures tell us He attended that Passover in 28 AD, the year He was baptized, according to Scriptures? After His baptism, Christ's first miracle done at Cana came a few days before a Passover feast (see John 2:11-13), the very first Passover He attended after His baptism. Was this Passover held in 28 AD, the year He was baptized? Note the sequence of events: baptism, wedding at Cana, first Passover attended. Jesus, after His baptism, spent 40 days and 40 nights fasting (Matt 4:1, 2; Luke 4:1, 2). It therefore follows that more than a month had passed after His baptism before He attended the wedding in Cana. The wedding occurred before the first Passover He attended. Passover is in the first month, on the 14th day of the month. The wedding in Cana occurred more than 40 days earlier. Even if the wedding coincided with the Passover, still His baptism would fall the year before. Since His baptism was in 28 AD, the first Passover He attended was in 29 AD. And the Passover in 30 AD is but the 2nd Passover. Test #2, Failed. Therefore, the belief that Christ was crucified Friday, in April 30 AD is a myth. The above proof against a 30AD crucifixion remains unrefuted so far. In Christ, Samie Quote
Samie Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 "Christ could not have eaten Passover in AD 30" should have read "Christ could not have eaten His last Passover in AD 30". My mistake. Sorry. Quote
