Based upon some none direct answers and meandering, I would guess this individual does not believe that a person can be ordained by God to lead his church with out approval of humans. The simple question of who in is in control of Gods church has been answered. It would seem that the RCC traditions are still alive and well, even within the SDA church, if we follow that logic.

Such tactics are either of the devil or the Lord, your call!

CoAspen, it is absolutely biblical for the Church, mankind on earth, to recognize officially or not those whom they deem to be ordained of God.

We cannot accept just anybody that walks in and makes such a claim. As was the case in Ellen Whites time when about 200 people claimed to be prophets! Should the Church accept them all at face value or look carefully to see if there is any evidence of a calling? The answer is obvious.

Woody, Johann is a smart, college educated guy who has a deep understanding and has studied Ellen Whites writings at length. It is my opinion he is fully aware of when he posts a quote that is out of context and by doing so, it is my opinion that constitutes a lie.

I sympathize that you and some others are unable to understand the context of some quotes, even when they are reasonably obvious. This is one reason why we need well educated scholars to edify the body of believers. It is tragic when they such educators not only fail to do so but actually take steps to mislead the layity!

Thats a major part of this problem with W.O. CoAspen. Every man or woman for themself, each to his own way. This is what Lucifer wanted in the original rebellion, for each of the angels to be free from the leadership and requirements of the law. For each one to go their own way, rejecting the rules, laws and order of which all of heaven was run by. I submit this is exactly what the Unions who have moved ahead of the G.C. have done, esteemed themselves better than their brethren and charted they're own course.

Jesus disciples could not really understand what Christ was all about even though they were intimate with him for three years. It took the Holy Spirit to expose their barriers in thinking to serving God effectively at Pentecost.

when someone comes to a perception of reality it can be very difficult to shift or change that perception whether it is error or truth. Ultimately the Spirit of truth alone can make someone understand something their natural mind resists knowing. And the condition for learning from the Holy Spirit is humility and being teachable. To lays ones thinking before the Lord and accept and know what God is teaching you, and to accept something that may contradict your understanding can be a severe trial, and a test of faith, and a life shaking experience.

this issue is not a small matter and for some it could be a testing truth, revealing points of disunity with God's character and will. This is why prayer is necessary to preserve unity and wisdom and peace and holiness among the family of God.

God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow, human society is not. This accusing back and forth that each is doing the work of the devil is not appropriate when the issue is just about the differences in perception and thinking about a specific issue among those who are otherwise united on the Cross, and the Law, and the major teachings of Scripture.

it is OK to step back and trust God to lead and bring unity. we need to make our unity with him sure, individually.
