Amen, sir. The goal of a healing center (or hospital) is the reinstatement of health and the eventual discharge of a patient.

(The domain of perpetual pestilence is hospice).

I cant wait till I am totally healed and discharged to heaven!

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.

When you see the Face of the Physician ... you can know that you are healed and ready to be discharged from this earth. But not before then.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Glad you liked that !!!

The sooner we realize that we are all in the same boat .... (we all sin) the sooner we will attract sinners rather than repel them.

Our church needs to be a hospital for sinners. Rather than a place of saints.

Instead ... we have chosen to shoot the wounded rather than invite them to the hospital.

Would you go to a hospital where NOBODY GETS WELL?

No!!! An important purpose of God's plan of salvation is to HEAL people from both the consequences and the power of sin; and to RESTORE them to wellness, physically, mentally, spiritually. God's church is His appointed agency through which He works to accomplish that healing.

Yes David ... you are so right. And this will be completed at the second coming when we see Him as He is and see His Face. Those who have salvation will become His perfected saints and fitted for Heaven at that time.

Red, if we believe and teach that perfection of character is bestowed only at the second coming, we are in for a sad surprise. Perfection of character must be achieved during the early and latter rain experience so that when general probation closes at the end of the loud cry, the full corn of Christ's character will be in the ear! This is what brings the end of the world!

"As the members of the body of Christ approach the period of their last conflict, they will grow up into Christ, and will partake largely of His Spirit." Testimonies, Vol.1, p.353.

"When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own." Christ's Object Lessons, p.69.

"The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

No Problem. Thank you. Words can be misunderstood. Our good works on Earth Glorify God. But the only way we are going to be fit for heaven is to be perfected when we See His Face. The work is started here and now but completed when we see Him.

Yes, I do understand that our mortal bodies will put on immortality at His appearing but our characters will not be perfected then, right?

"The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

I would ask what the meaning of corrupt means?

Also ... when do you think our characters will be changed?

The characters that we have here on this earth are not worthy of heaven. ...

"I will be your representative in Heaven. The Father beholds not your faulty character, but He sees you as clothed in My perfection." DA 357

"Christs character stands in the place of your character and you are accepted before God" STC 62

"We are not to be anxious about what Christ and God think of us, but about what God thinks of Christ our substitute". 2 SM 33

Those who are saved will have faulty characters. These faulty characters will have to be changed when He comes and we see His face.

1 John 3:2 is clear about this ...

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but we know that , when he shall appear we shall be like him: for we shall see him as he is."

Whatever our characters are lacking when He comes ... they will be transformed into His character when we SEE HIS FACE.

Praise God for His loving kindness towards us.

Character is fixed at death or when general probation closes so that when Jesus returns it has already been fixed for ever.

"When the work of the Gospel is completed, there immediately follows the separation between the good and the evil, and the destiny of each class is forever fixed." Christ's Object Lessons, p.123.

"The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

Yes ... as far as a determination for Salvation ... that character is not good enough ... we have to have the Character of Christ to stand in our place. Our character will then be the character of Christ. It will not be ours because ours was fixed and determined to come short of the glory of God and short of the perfection that the law requires.

Thus ... we have to have the Robe of Righteousness and Character of Christ in place of ours. We will then go to Heaven with a replaced character. Our old character will be fixed and proclaimed as inadaquate. Our new character will be that of Christs. And that character will stand in the place of ours.

sky writes: The character of Christ is to be "reproduced" in His children. To be "reproduced" is not to "stand in the place of" but it means to be "re-created" in the image of God. This takes places in the here and now and not at the coming of Christ. Then it is too late. "Now is the acceptable time. Now is the day of salvation." 2 Cor.6:2.

sky writes: In the Judgment Christ's perfect robe of character stands in the place of our own as far as to cover the sins that were sent beforehand to judgment but if we come up to the judgment with sins unconfessed or un-repented of, Christ's character will not stand in the place of our defects of character then. It will be too late to remedy our defects.

Mel, this statement concerns our title to Heaven, not our fitness. You should know that. And I am sure you have read this too: "The righteousness by which we are justified is imputed; the righteousness by which we are sanctified is imparted. The first is our title to Heaven, the second is our fitness for Heaven." Review and Herald, June 4, 1895.

In justification, the character of Christ stands in our place (imputed) but in our sanctification the character of Christ has been perfectly reproduced in us. (imparted)

Anyone who claims that he cannot sin is a lier. But the Gospel makes it possible to cease from sin. There is a difference.

"As we behold Christ pierced for our sins, we shall see that we cannot break the law of God and remain in His favor; we shall feel that as sinners we must lay hold of the merits of Christ and cease to sin. Then we are drawing nigh to God." Selected Messages, Vol.1, p.312.

We can overcome as Jesus overcame. But the overcomer will be the last one to brag obout it. He will be the last one to know about it and therefore will never claim that he cannot sin or that he is not sinning anymore. There is never a time when the Christian can say, "I cannot sin." If he makes that claim it is because he is deceived. But a true Christian does believe that Christ can save him from selfishness and sin to the uttermost in this life! Christ will have such a people before He returns. "When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own." C.O.L.69.

If they are sanctified then why are their affections and desires not always of God. If it is God dwelling in them in a sanctified form ... why are the affections and desires so corrupt?

As you know yourself, here Mrs. White is not talking about the sanctified ones but about those who boast about their being sanctified.

Those who are truly sanctified have their inherited and cultivated tendencies to evil brought into subjection by the Holy Spirit who impresses the character of Christ upon them. But these make no boast of their holiness because they are unsconscious of it!
