Dave It's true, Ellen White says our character is all we can take with us to heaven. Our character is made up during a life-time of decision-making as to whom we will serve, whether Jesus Christ or the other side. And as David says here, the work of character building is now, before the Second Coming; in fact, it is before the close of human probation and the falling of the seven last plagues. We are on probation now. It's our time of testing. Job, Jacob, David, and even Jesus, all went through a time of testing. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John 14:10 KJV "And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me. " Matthew 10:38 ASV "For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." The Father beholds not your faulty character, but sees you as clothed in My perfection." DA 357 "Christs character stands in place of your character, and you are accepted before God just as if you had not sinned". STC 62 It is clear that the characters that we develop here on earth are not good enough nor trustworthy. "Every sinful tendancy, every imperfection that afflicts them here, has been removed by the blood of Christ, and the excellence and brightness of His glory, far exceeding the brightness of the sun, is imparted to them." STC 126 The character development that we do here is only a drop in the bucket. Our real character development will be imparted to us after our life is over. We shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. Anyway ... it does NOT sound like our characters are WORTHY of taking to heaven as you state John317. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
