Moderators John317 Posted August 16, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 16, 2012 Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas, July 2012 I apologize for not being able to give at this time the name of the man in the picture. I will post his name soon. He produces a number of DVDs on the Kennedy Assassination, one of which is titled, "The Kennedy Assassination Tour," another called, "The Assassination? Or Execution of President John f. Kennedy," in both Spanish and English. I enjoyed talking to both this gentleman and to Groden, although I don't agree with their conclusions. I'm not advocating any particular view of the assassination but I'm glad to see that many people are still open to considering the various possibilities and theories. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Administrators Naomi Posted August 16, 2012 Administrators Posted August 16, 2012 From time-to-time I have seen people in that area with information proclaiming that it was indeed an assassination. Don't remember if this was one, or not. Interesting that there are so many who believe it was an assassination. As for myself, as a rule, I really don't get into "theories" Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

Moderators John317 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 Yes, I have no interest in pushing any particular view of the killing of President Kennedy. The reason I took pictures at Dealey Plaza is simply that his assassination was such a central event as I was growing up. I was about 15 when it happened and very interested at the time in the history of the US. I was an avid Goldwater supporter but I also liked Kennedy very much. The bottom line for me is that I believe President Kennedy deserves to see the American people and history continually concerned with what happened. As for myself, as a rule, I really don't get into "theories" If it wasn't an assassination, then it would have to have been an accident. I don't believe it was an accident, I think somebody was actually trying to kill him. Which makes it assassination. :) Quote
Moderators John317 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 Cochise Stronghold, Arizona, 2012 Shows the Stronghold from a distance. Because of the geography, the Apaches didn't consider it necessary to build fortifications for protection. A close look at the terrain and a study of how the Apaches made war helps us to understand why they felt fully protected by these mountains. Moderators John317 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 Yeah, the whole debate is not about whether it was an assassination but whether there was a conspiracy. Members phkrause Posted August 17, 2012 Members Posted August 17, 2012 I've heard a few of the conspiracies, and they make sense. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members phkrause Posted August 17, 2012 Members Posted August 17, 2012 Good point RLH, I agree, I too have always thought it was an assasination. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators John317 Posted August 17, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 17, 2012 Everyone knows it was an assassination. I've never heard anyone doubt it. What many people question is whether it was a conspiracy. Moderators John317 Posted August 18, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 18, 2012 This is a former co-worker of mine who lives in our town and whom I chanced to photograph at a gas station in Arizona just before I took the picture of my truck on the freeway. I would spend the next several days at a motel-- days that I didn't consider wasted, though, because I got a number of very good photographs out of the experience. (If you could read the letters on the man's shirt in photo #1, you would see they read, "This World Is Not My Home.") Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Moderators John317 Posted August 18, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 18, 2012 Amity, Arkansas, July 2012 (B&W) These train tracks are just down the road a little piece from my daughter's place in Arkansas. They are beautiful. There's beauty in the simplest, most ordinary things, like these useless train tracks all covered with weeds & grass. Moderators John317 Posted August 19, 2012 Author Moderators Posted August 19, 2012 Thank you, Richard. I believe it was taken by my daughter, although it might have been taken by the kids' grandmother or dad. All three were taking pics. But I think this one was on my daughter's camera, so she's probably the one who took this great photo. I was just so happy I got to make the trip out there. If it hadn't been for my nephew-- who needed to move back to Tennessee-- I wouldn't have been able to go. As you know, the gas is just so expensive, especially as you go west.
