When I first saw pics of him, I thought he looked like his father, but both his dad and mom said immediately after he was born that he looked like me. I went there almost completely by chance when I saw a sign and decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did. Wonderful place. I wished I could stay but I needed to hurry on to Dallas, so I was at Beaver's Bend only for one afternoon and evening. While making these pictures, it quickly became too dark to take any more. It was one occasion that I wished I had a tripod; I was sure it would be out of focus. The second picture shows the way the light (or rather, the lack of light) actually was at the time. Both pictures are from the same exposure. I took the third picture with flash just to make sure one turned out OK. On-camera flash is generally a last resort with me.
