Richard Holbrook Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 At what point do we reach your "Unpardonable Sin" condition where our petitions to Jesus are no longer accepted? Are you saying there's no such thing? Quote

With your theory .... at what point will our petitions to Jesus no longer be accepted? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Woody Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Quote: "We may have flattered ourselves, as did Nicodemus, that our life has been upright, that our moral character is correct, and think that we need not humble the heart before God, like the common sinner: but when the light from Christ shines into our souls, we shall see how impure we are; we shall discern the selfishness of motive, the enmity against God, that has defiled every act of life. Then we shall know that our own righteousness is indeed as filthy rags, and that the blood of Christ alone can cleanse us from the defilement of sin, and renew our hearts in His own likeness." {SC 28.3} It is clear that whatever good works we allow Christ to do in our lives .... they are as filthy rags towards our salvation. God has given us all the advantages He possibly could give, that we may have strength to withstand the temptations of the enemy. Had man, when tested and tried, followed the example of Christ, he would have given his children and his children's children an example of steadfast purity and righteousness, and the race would not have deteriorated, but improved. . . . " TDG 318 "There is no excuse for sin. It will be the final condemnation of Lucifer and his angels that when God shall ask, "Why have ye done this?" they will be able to assign no reason. And when at the last great day sinners are confronted with their sins, and are asked, "Why did you transgress?" every mouth will be stopped. The sinful will stand speechless before God. " RH, September 24, 1901 par. 3 "Men of high or low degree have no excuse for sin. The light given of Heaven, the power from Jesus Christ, can be obtained by all who ask for it in faith. Under every provocation there is a present help that will never fail. We are to learn to take God at his word, walking by simple faith, continually feeling our own weakness, and trusting in the Mighty One of Israel. But then when we find this is happening in our life, we need to look deeper and see if maybe we like to keep sinning. And if we like to keep sinning, we know we have a deeper spiritual problem. We need more than forgiveness. We need a change of mind and a change of heart. The Bible calls it being born from above, or the new birth or second birth.
