Maybe I read this wrong, but my impression is that this woman was given a vision, or several visions. And that there was one where something is gonna happen in 2005.

I have to admit...the "good men in goverment will do evil" statement made me set up and take notice....

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

Rosie;

The story is true. She is/has finished translating the books for her people.

She spoke to Doug Batchelor and we have 04 Revival, The final Events of Bible Prophecy and coming up is the Prophecy Codes. He is doing his level best to get the message to the world through different presentations. Praise is to God!

He took her story to heart and so did I. I did not take her story as a new prophet at all. I took it as a mighty witness to me. She is intent on going back to her people as she was instructed. I believe the message was for her and it was full of hope and promise of the end coming soon.

I did not consider her a prophet in the since of a replacement or even and additional prophet. She said in 2005 something bad would happen. Well, it did; in 12 countries! Now we hear of weather in summer being like winter in Australia.

Soo said "after that the Sunday Laws will come". This is not new. We should have already known that. We knew also "that the sea would give up its’ water".

We have known the signs for years, but we have somehow placed our advent belief far in the future. Folk, Raise your heads up, the end is near!

Steve Wohlberg preached a sermon on Soo. A tape of that sermon can be ordered from Steve at his website www.endtimeinsights.com You may have to request it through an email to him on the website.

Stan;

An interview with Steve might be great! This could be part of his interview. He has written many books and has productions of his own. He is a former Amazing Facts evangelist. He now is the pastor of the Templeton Hills SDA Church in CA. He has Endtime Insights radio programs and is preparing for the release of another book.

It would be good if more conferences were able to use Soo's experience to get their people to take the end of time events seriously.

The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true & honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty..., men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.{Ed 57.3}

All I've been able to find out is she has been given specific instructions (by an angel) for her people (Laotian).

I have not read that we Adventists are hailing her as our "new prophet", as formers are saying.

Here's some info and an interview:

Oh, thanks for all the info, Fran!

So Pastor Doug is busy because of Soo?

Why haven't we heard more of this?

Caution?

Something is definatly in the air.

Last sabbath our congregation watched the Final Events DVD and our church is buying up enough from Amazing Facts to share with our entire community. I am so looking forward to Net 2005!

Well GAWRSH, when I first joined the SDA church I had been given a complete "download" of the entire Great Controversy theme in vision which, at the time, prior to encountering the SDA church, I thought I and the 3 others with me at that event were the only ones on earth who knew The Truth about Everything!!! But nobody ever proclaimed ME the next prophet of the SDA church. Wah, I'm crushed. frown.gif

I got a copy too and watched it just today. I thought overall it was very good but a little too "Adventist-y" for those not familiar with our idioms and doctrines (e.g. probation closing, etc.) Another thing that really bothered me was how they subtlely sneaked in things like gay marriage and harry potter. I mean COME ON ... is it REALLY necessary to offend people over divisive stuff like that? Isn't the CROSS OF CHRIST "offense" enough to swallow for the non-believer (till he is converted!) and SHOULDn't we strive not to offend unnecessarily when presenting the gospel? The LORD is able to deal with those things once the heart is given to HIM. No need to throw up extra barriers PRIOR to that event, right???

I mean this really upset me because now I can't share this excellent DVD with friends who are gay or who like Lord of the Rings. They will be turned off by the way they shoved that in there. Please tell me you all know what I mean here. I'm not saying the Truth never offends people. What I AM saying is that OPINIONS about certain Truths that CAN offend should be still and let HIM be God first and let people get TO HIM first. Then HE will deal with whatever needs dealing with.

If we really believe what the Bible says, and if we as a church are really living up to the Biblical description of God's People, then EVERY SINGLE ONE of us is a prophet. Every time you open your mouth to "speak out for God", YOU are a prophet. Our sons and daughters should be prophesying; our old men dreaming dreams and our young men having visions.

This should be expected and encouraged as normal behavior. Instead what happens? When someone appears to exhibit the gift of prophecy, they are either (a) placed on an impossibly high pedestal to be worshipped, and impossibly high standards of perfection demanded of them, so when they inevitably fall short, they are denounced as a false prophet; or (B) automatically denounced as a false prophet anyway because we all know that E. White was the last prophet and the person must obviously be deranged/ involved in the occult/ menopausal or otherwise hormonal, to even claim to be such.

Jews = Old Testament prophets were the last prophets

Zoroastrians = Zarathustra was the last prophet

Mandaeans/ Sabeans = John the Baptist was the last prophet

Islam = Mohammed was the last prophet

Mormons = Joseph Smith was the last prophet

SDA = Ellen White was the last prophet

what we really should be teaching is that God can use every one of us as a mouthpiece, if we are willing!

LOL - I like your dead-on analysis. You rock when you're on fire, girl!!! Yes, we all know what they did to Jones and Waggoner after they'd served their "purpose" ... and it's not lost on me that if anyone had proclaimed anything about me (my last post was tongue-in-cheek, BTW!) it would have turned to sulphuric acid the moment I fell from grace or even just fell into temptation.

Don't worry too much, I liked Lord of the Rings, myself. I wasn't too offended. (well, maybe just a little cool.gif ) I commented at pot luck publicly (big mistake) I didn't think it was about witchcraft, like Harry Potter, and got a verbal Bible lesson on wizards...

The two guys getting married, I'm trying to remember which point in prophecy that was pointing to? Do you remember?

Actually, we don't teach that Ellen White was the last prophet. When I took the Ellen White writings at the Seminary, someone asked if the church believed there had been any prophets since EGW. And the spokesman for the White Estate, and our teacher, said, "Yes." But that their gift had been more limited and specific in nature, rather than general for the whole church.

OTOH, why should we feel offended if we are chosen of God to speak for Him and few will accept that as reality?

[:"red"] "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name... " [/]Phil 2:5-9

And if we truly are speaking for God, His disciples won't have a problem listening to what He has to say through us.

[:"red"] "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. I am not sure Doug is on fire because of Soo, but something has given him an urgency he hasn't had before. He is sincere in his urgency; Soo, or no Soo. I did hear that Soo is one of many that have seen an angel or angels.

We haven't heard much because no one wants to say she is the real thing. In fact many discredit her. I don't. Why? Because the message was for her! I accept the witness because she made me remember what our lives are all about. I do not want to be caught with no oil in my lamp. I don't want to be found wanting. So, to me she gave me a renewed sense of Christ's soon return.

Everyone on the earth has an illness that is terminal. We will all die except those that are alive and make it though the end time prophecies. I so want to see Jesus come. I believe it will be sooner than later.

Caution? It depends what you do with the information. Don't place her before the Bible and you should be safe. Read her witness and believe it or not. I choose to believe her. She has asked for no money. Yet, she has been provided her needs. She is doing what the angel said to the letter. She took training to become a medical missionary. She was told to do that and she sacrificed to do it.

God Bless her in her mission. Remember that she did not say God told her a year or a date. She just said the government would mean to do good, but it would be bad, and after that the Sunday Laws would come. Does that mean in 2005? I don't know. Could it be 2010? I don't know. I just know I believe we won't be here in 2010.

Soo says she has not been received very well and that the majority of people disbelieve her story. That is OK, which is their choice. I choose to believe her because she is fulfilling what she says God has asked her to do, so that is all I know. She has always been asked her story. She has not proclaimed her story. She only shares with those who ask. She is taking no money from the church. People have provided for her, but she has also worked to earn money to do the translations. All I can say is, “You go girl!”

I wish I had money to send dishes and receivers to Laos to receive all these waves we are bouncing all over the earth. I want her people saved! Since 3ABN has satellites that cover the earth, maybe they should take some of those donations and send FREE receivers and dishes to those people who are lost and dying. A beam is no good if it can not be received. Potential viewer numbers are only that! Potential! If there is no receiver and dish, they have NO viewers.

It was in section #1 (right at the beginning - UGH!) being used as a very blatant illustration of "immorality" -- the voice over of Pastor B. was all about the increase in immoral behavior, etc. and two guys were holding hands in front of -- get this one too everyone -- A FEMALE PASTOR!!?!?!?!?!?!?! Come ON now!!!!! Is THAT supposed to be part of the "immorality" as well, recognition of Galatians 3:28??? Because if it is, I'm out of the SDAs and going to cast my theological vote toward Family Radio who says EVERYONE should come out of ALL the churches cuz they are ALL fallen. smile.gif

I don't discredit her either -- I was simply echoing what aldona said about how ready to discredit we can be once we've "elevated" someone, is all, should they fall or fail our expectations. I agree with what you say Fran that the message was for her to do a work for the Lord to help her people, and I don't see her out to make a name for herself or elevate herself in any way but just to share what she was given and shown -- as any and all of us can do. Obviously if there's a great need somewhere and a willing/open/seeking heart/mind, God will move upon them to meet that need with a great work.

That's sad -- she is a sister and we need to ENCOURAGE HER IN THE LORD!!! Fran do you know how to contact her? Can you find that out for us so we can write letters of encouragement to her to lift her spirits? I would love to do something like that ...

We can value her as a person, and child of God.

We can encourage her in her developing walk with the Lord.

But, all of the above neither means we should accept the claims that people state about her, nor that we should beleive her.

The standard of proof for the claims that some make about her should be high. Months ago when this first surfaced, and I took a look at the cited references, I came away with the following:

a) I wonder if perhaps some are making claims about her that go beyond what she actually makes?

B) On the basis of what she has said, I am unconvinced of the truth of what some others have said about her.

Probably not a pastor, more than likely a civil ceremony. How many churches recognize same-sex marriage and have female ministers??

I was married in a civil ceremony by a woman. So long ago, I'm not even sure what her credentials were. grin.gif
