Members phkrause Posted April 23, 2012 Members Posted April 23, 2012 Thanks Laz, here's an interesting link, tell me what you think. http://www.lcsheafe.net/ phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Guest Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Hebrews 10:24 And let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds, Prov 27:17 Just as iron sharpens iron, a person sharpens the character of his friend. Excellent verses Lazarus That doesn't say one word about the black man getting rid of the white mans guilt, or the white man getting rid of the black mans anger.

I've never ever seen any reference to this guy before. I'm puzzled by that. Will dig deeper. Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Moderators lazarus Posted April 24, 2012 Moderators Posted April 24, 2012 Forgiveness takes away anger and resentment. Ditto the guilt. And forgiveness is a gift from above. Yet our forgiveness is in relationship to our willingness to forgive others. Correct? Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Literally, no, but the principle is there. The quote is black man's fear by the way. Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. Moderators lazarus Posted April 25, 2012 Moderators Posted April 25, 2012 The Lord cannot forgive us unless we forgive others, that's my understanding. The point is that our relationship to others is key to our relationship to God. We are part of the process of refining and growing others. God uses our wives/husbands to grow us! The notion that black and white people work together in the refining process is clearly Biblical. Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. doug yowell Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I don't quite understand your point. Are you suggesting that when the leftist (black and white)"leaders" of today's "civil rights movement" allege racism that whites are stirred by their guilt or their desire to continue their racism? If you are charged with something you know you didn't do why do you not have a legitimate right to be stirred? My point is simple, whites are constantly being accused of being of being the racist "remnant". When we (the majority of whites in America) deny the charge we are said to be in denial. Heads you win, tails I lose. Non-blacks voted in a President that the black community claims as "one of their own". There is no higher office in the land. Doesn't this say something about the continuing racism that allegedly permeates this country? Quote: Whose thinking? Not mine or, I might venture to guess, the majority of the "white" mindset. I don't know anyone who thinks that the racism practiced against blacks before the 1980's is anywhere near (not even worth comparing) the scope of any reverse racism that we may see today. A recent Public Religion Research Institute poll found 44% of Americans surveyed identify discrimination against whites as being just as big as bigotry aimed at blacks and other minorities. The poll found 61% of those identifying with the Tea Party held that view, as did 56% of Republicans and 57% of white evangelicals. Quote: This may or may not be true. Just because they believe this does not necessitate it's truthfulness. Of Course Quote: What racial slurs are you referring to? I've heard him called a socialist, a Muslim, a non-American, a radical, a leftist, a communist, Mr. President, and a few other unkind things but I've never heard him called ANY racial slur. Where do black people get their information from?

CoAspen Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 It has been claimed that WASP are not racist/bigots/etc, as a group and that certain groups say they are. Has anyone asked, on these forums or from others, just what exactly is seen as racist thought, ideas or words? How do we know what is considered 'racist' if we haven't asked the other person what they mean? If the individual says "it is such and such or this and that", do we then attempt to learn why it is percieved that way or do we simply say "no it's not or not to me"?
