Sure it is, "you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself". Ellen White clarified:

You will have that love which seeks not her own, but another's wealth. [DA 439]

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

The market is set by demand. If I have a product no one wants, it matters little how rich I am. Being rich will not produce a market alone.

No, if you're rich you can get laws tailor made just for your business through lobbyist. Watch the video.

to busy oneself with, i.e. to trade:--occupy....business, matter, thing, work.

"Those that want to get rich"....

Can you finish that statement?

Occupy doesn't mean make all the money you can, but that's how even church members do. There's no contentment anymore.

The video,No thanks.

While yes, once you are rich. Most people do not start out rich.

Most start out because they want to work for themselves and if they are good at what they do,work hard, take risk, hardship, and long, long days they may become rich.Maybe they just make an above average income.

You are obsessed with the rich it appears. Are you as obsessed over your own behavior? Do you have more than the basics? Christ didn't.What do you do with your free time and talents and excess finances that you don't need to survive?

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. This is almost to silly to even respond to.

Most people that have or had a successful business do not begin that business to become rich.My husband did because he wanted more control over the job,the hours. He had four sons to educate. We certainly didn't become rich, but I know he worked harder than you do and didn't spend his time condemning others. I know in your world that is a sin as well.To me it is a sin to bring children into the world and have them be a burden to others. It is a sin to not provide children with a good base, strong work ethic along with failing to teach them to help others.

You get that rock for a pillow yet? That is all Christ had.Living in a commune yet?The early church did, find one.

Usually there is a little problem with those. There are actually those that think it a sin to work hard,to competitive, jealousy, watch what the others are doing. Are they doing as much, are they getting more than their share.Pretty soon you have what the early pilgrims did.

When the day comes you live as you hammer others to live, then it might be the day I think you might believe even a small portion of what you say is the gospel. The bible seems to be a convenient tool to you, lifting a portion here and there and fitting it together to make the gospel you like.

The bible is from Genesis to Rev and taken as a whole it does not say what you claim it does

Whose partiality? There isn't anything stopping you from having more if that is your problem other than the little matter of envy, some pretty obvious self righteousness and a desire to somehow excuse your own behavior.

Watch the darn video and get your head out of the sand. Maybe you've been brainwashed by opinion news, such as Fox news? Yes, probably!

I think you are a bitter man and very resentful of others.

People that have or you perceive to have more power and wealth than you are so often a target for your name calling and and condemnation

Those that don't agree with you,you call some pretty harsh names, Wasn't it just recently you called someone "son of satan"

Most people don't become wealthy because they have power. Most are not born wealthy but have something that others lack. A desire to own their own business and the work ethic and determination to make it succeed. A good portion of start up businesses fail,so to think it is a get rich quick is ridiculous. They struggle for years before they are making wages and even that takes awhile.

Again, are you as concerned about the way you handle your finances, what you do for others with your time, talent and money? Do you live for anothers wealth.

If not take the medicine you keep trying to convince others to take. Examples are far more effective and speak more clearly than hammering a segment of society to make yourself look better.

Share your video with someone else. The video doesn't change anything. I still only have control over my own money, time and talents. If this is what you choose to do with yours,I hope it is rewarding

God didn't give you talents to spend on your pleasure.

James 4:1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You want something but don't get it. You kill (and remember if you hate someone you are murderer) and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

So God doesn't give you talents so that you can serve yourself. We serve ourselves because we have a nature that is bent-to-self.

God didn't give you talents to spend on your pleasure. That's your nature....Your nature is self-seeking, God's agape is self-denying. Understand?

What you are going to deal with is poverty. It's coming, unless you are they top 5%. It's coming, and then legalistic religion to cover it up....After all churches are even for sale when it comes to the almighty dollar.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You are always defining legalism in others. You determine why others do something. That isn't your job and like anyone else you are bad at it.

There are more ways than one to be legalistic, you have dressed it up and called it grace according to Robert

I think you are as legalistic in your way as those of us that you accuse and are constantly berating and name calling.

I never have understood the resentment towards people with money....

At some point someone earned that money 99.9 percent of the time. Good for them I say! Some people have inherited money. Well is that their fault? Nope, not at all. As I said, at some point someone earned that money. I know if I had a large chunk my kids would benefit as would theirs etc. Most of why we work hard in life is to support our families, so I never understand those that complain about people doing that.

The rich don't owe the poor anything. If they are decent people they will do what they can to help. A great deal of the time that is done by starting business's that employ people. That give people a place to start and try to build their own lives. Some people succeed more than others - that is just the nature of life.

In a perfect world we would all have everything we needed, we would all live for each other and be equal. But that is not in our nature, in our genetic make up, and is a waste of time to even wish for.

We can all choose to help out our fellow man - rich or poor - its just a choice of doing it or not.

King David gave the equivalent of $3 billion towards the building of the First Temple. That $3 billion was from his own personal stash.

We don't know how much of it was from his gathering all the carts and wagons he could lay his hands on, gathering warriors about himself - and setting off for the Euphrates - pillaging and plundering from whatever towns and villages he found easy and defenseless - there and back.

Of course the carts and wagons were to haul his 'stuff' back home.

Yet, Gd said of him that he was blameless. Others forward him as being a type of Jesus Christ.

Gd requires the greedy who cannot part with their wealth - to sell all that they have and give to the poor - for their wealth is a hindrance to their well-being. Gd does not lay the same burden upon everyone. There are too many anecdotes of people who are generous with what Gd has blessed them with - and find that Gd keeps giving and increasing their wealth abundantly.

Wealth is an accrual from hard work, talent, and Gd's blessing.

Money, money, money, money makes the world go 'round!

It's the petty grifting of those seeking to get by on other people's efforts - that is actig as a drag on this nation's economy. Stop the world and let them get off - them and their free cellphones and Verizon.

Everything based on self-seeking is sin. Leave God out of the pic.....He is not the author of sin. His method of wealth is through agape love, not the love of self.

It is not for you to command and others obey.

There is something you are leaving out unless you have changed what you previously said some time back. This had been the same discussion you have brought up again and again.

When you were railing about all those "self seeking' legalists in another forum you showed a picture of a very expensive vehicle.

You absolved yourself from all you were saying and accusing others of because "you were not under the law"

The world you are comparing this world to was a perfect world. After the fall Adam and Eve had to work,(self seeking) to provide for their families. To work hard and do that is not a sin.

Then as now there are people that envy those that work harder, and think the labor of others is there by right. Envy, bitterness and hypocrisy is as much a sin as your defined "self seeking".God did not demand you take care of the shiftless and allow them to remain so.Nor did he command you divide your time and finances among all you know equally with your family to be a christian.

"Loving thy neighbor as they self" and all equally is not a command I love the neighbor man as I do my husband.

If my neighbor is cold, hungry and destitute,if it is within my capabilities to relieve that I should be willing to.Not support him as I would my family.

MT,

As usual, you bring what is becoming irrational bickering to a realistic and rational level.

IMO, "poverty" is as much of a mind set an it is a finiancial condition. The chronically poor naturally have a povery mind set, which is essentially to get as much stuff as you can as quickly as possible whenever you have the means to get it. Unfortunately, when a chronically poor person is suddenly wealthy (like winning a $100 Million lottery or becoming a professional athlete), the povery mindset stays with them; and they hoard lots of expensive stuff - huge homes, ridiculously expensive cars gaudy jewelry the best drugs and "rental" sex money can buy. Suddenly, 2 or 3 years later, they're broke again. They never learned how to manage wealth.

Onthe other hand, the chronically wealthy people I know (I don't know many), have a mind set, also. They seek to preserve their wealth as a legacy for their children and society. They don't hoard consumable goods, they collect items which hold or increase in value. They don't give $1 Million one-time gift to a charity; they set up a $1 Million endowment fund that gives that charity $100,000 per year for 25 years. They set up a trust for their offspring as a legacy, so their children don't have to face poverty that is likely coming in the socialistic "entitlement" society we are becoming and develop a poverty mind-set.

One cannot lump all wealthy people into a box called "selfish and evil" any more than one can lump all poor people into a box called "mistreated and needy". We are all responsible for much of our own circimstances. And for the circumstances were are not responsible for, we ARE responsible for the way we respond to those circumstances.

How much money does it talke to be the "rich" guy Robert is talking about? I am 62 years old and make over $50k per year. I am NOT rich. I have 7 kids, 2 of whom are in college. Total college bills runs about $45,000 per year(including some help for room and board - girls also work). I have a mortgage payment of over $1,500 per month; not to mention food, insurance, cars, gas for cars, utility bills, etc. I don't think that makes me rich. My financial planner says that, if I retire at age 70, my wife and I will need roughly $2 Million to live until age 90 in the life style we now have; assuming 3% per year inflation and that we don't have any debilitating medical problems. That will never happen! Even with $2 Million at retirement; I ain't rich - I'm treading water! I'm hoping that the last check I write before we both die bounces AFTER we die bwink
