Samie Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 But I must admit, I am very vocal in our Tagalog class at AIIAS, hoping that someone from AIIAS will confront me about it. And I think many among our class members are interested in my position. Modesty aside, when the SS teacher is absent, they want me to take over, even though they know that I usually talk about my position when asked to teach. Quote

In that school, we are told: NKJ 1 Corinthians 3:19-21 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness"; 20 and again, "The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile Software difficulties. Will make the best of this. 1.Yes, really. This verse does not imply the future is fixed. Jesus was saying He would go to the Father. Remember that God acts in human history. There is no issue of free will here; Jesus going to the Father doesn't impact anybody's free will. 2.My position doesn't prevent my from answering your question, but your false premise, as I explained. Have you stopped beating your wife? Does you position stop you from answering this question, or a false premise? 3.Your assertion that your false premise is making like an ostrich is mean spirited and not intelligent. 4.I didn't see the point in your last comment. Quote Christ exalted the character of God, attributing to him the praise, and giving to him the credit, of the whole purpose of his own mission on earth,--to set men right through the revelation of God.
Samie Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 Nor do I say the future is fixed. God knows the future, but He does not fix it. You are simply hiding your head in the sand, pretending that there is no danger to your position, by simply brushing aside my question as having a false premise, when actually your position prevents you from answering it because you will be proven wrong when you try to answer it. To the new readers of this thread, my question that Pnatt says has a false premise is this: "Before the creation of this world, did God know that Adam will fall into sin?" Sorry, if you are hurt by my referring to your style of addressing the current issue as an ostrich defense. Quote

pnattmbtc Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 (addressing to 8thday) Another point that came to mind, even if God were as you say, the proof would still hold. That is, God could still have everything written in a book, and the paradox would apply as explained. Your proof didn't hold, as I have shown: 5 hours ago, Samie said: You look forward in the book to see what you will be doing an hour hence, and if it says you will be looking in the book, you will not look in the book, BUT God will cause your eyes to remain open and hold the book before your eyes, but if it says you will not be looking in the book, you will look in the book, BUT God will make the book invisible you won't see it. God had done much more difficult things than just holding your eyes open or making the book invisible. And your proof crumbles into dust. But you hide your head in the sand. Quote "But you hide your head in the sand." This is ad hominem, which has no place in logical discourse, especially one dealing with the soundness of an argument. Quote God had done much more difficult things than just holding your eyes open or making the book invisible. As I explained, this is irrelevant. As I also explained, the whole argument can be couched without mentioning God at all, which I did. The fact that I have to explain this to you is evidence you don't understand the argument. Quote And your proof crumbles into dust. This statement is absurd. How could an irrelevant point crumble an argument? These statements simply show you don't understand the argument. You can't hope to refute an argument you don't understand. This is a logical proof which has nothing to do with God. It would be as if you responded to a proof of Euclid's by saying that God could make triangles which are squares. Another point is that that argument doesn't rely on the book. The book was simply a means to end, of demonstrating the existence of a paradox. The paradox exists not because of God, or because of the hypothetical book, but because of the premise that there is such a thing as a single future and still be able to choose among different alternatives. Given your stance on Eph. 2, however, I don't even know if this is an issue for you. Do you hold to the Arminian position regarding free will or the Calvinist one? Quote Christ exalted the character of God, attributing to him the praise, and giving to him the credit, of the whole purpose of his own mission on earth,--to set men right through the revelation of God.
