Answer: On this day in 1952, Ronald and Nancy Reagan were married in Los Angeles, California. Reagan's good friend and fellow actor William Holden, was his best man. Holden's wife Ardis was the matron of honor. The Holden's were the only guests. William Holden was one of the most popular movie stars at the time and remained one of the biggest box office draws during the 1950s and 1960s. Holden starred in some of Hollywood's most popular and critically acclaimed films, including such classics as Sunset Boulevard, Sabrina, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Wild Bunch, Picnic, and Network.

One of the most important and guiding voices at the Convention was also its oldest: Benjamin Franklin. He was 81 and his body was wearing down. He attended the Convention barely able to walk and also doing battle with gout and a stone in his bladder. He had to be carried into meetings by four prisoners from the nearby Walnut Street jail.

When the Convention was over, he was crying as he signed the document, needing someone else's help to do so. He later remarked about a picture of half the sun on George Washington's chair: "I have the happiness to know that it is a rising and not a setting sun." Seems that while his body was fading, his mind was doing just fine.

While Benjamin Franklin made it into his 80s, other signers of the Constitution never got anywhere near that far. Alexander Hamilton and Richard Spaight were both killed in duels, George Wythe died from arsenic poisoning, and Gouverneur Morris (yeah, that's his real name, not an old-timey spelling for a political title) died when he tried and failed to remove a bullet from his body with whale bone. Think about that. Failed attempt at self-surgery with a whale bone! And you thought the SNL curse was bad. But perhaps the most fascinating premature death belongs to John Lansing who left his hotel room to mail a letter one day and was never heard from again.

Who is Credited as "Penman of the Constitution?" Who Actually Wrote the Constitution?

Gouvernor Morris has other claims to fame besides that whole whale bone thing. For starters, he loved to dance, despite having a peg leg which we're now pretty sure he got jumping from a window trying to escape the husband of a woman he was having an affair with.

He also gets the credit for authoring that whole "We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union" preamble, and as such, he has been credited as "Penman of the Constitution." But while Morris certainly deserves some credit for that, it's worth noting he wasn't actually the man who put pen to paper and wrote the Constitution. That man was Jacob Shallus, and for his troubles writing the most important document in our nation's history, he made a hefty thirty bucks.

We thought we'd conclude with a question about one of the few people at the Constitutional Convention who didn't sign the document (by the time the convention ended, 39 of the 42 men there signed). One of the dissenters was a man named Elbridge Gerry who thought there shouldn't be a Vice President, saying "The close intimacy that must subsist between the President and Vice President makes it absolutely improper." You may be sitting there wondering who the heck is Elbridge Gerry? Well we'll tell you: In 1813, he became America's fifth Vice President.

Answer: Sandra Bullock had the unique experience of winning both an Oscar and a Razzie in the very same year. In 2010, Bullock received two Razzies for her part in All About Steve: Worst Actress and Worst On-Screen Couple with Bradley Cooper. Bullock showed up to accept her Razzies with a wagon full of All About Steve DVDs for the audience and playfully threatened the audience with a line reading of the entire movie. The day after the awards ceremony, Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role for her performance in the film The Blind Side.

What was the Boston Massacre?

A fair first question. One day, an angry colonial mob began harassing a British soldier and pelting him with sticks and snowballs. A sentry of soldiers came upon the scene, and, needless to say, the confrontation between the angry mob and the soldiers holding muskets did not end well. Shots were fired, and five colonists were killed. The artist Henry Pelham's rendition of the event, later engraved by Paul Revere, depicted the powerful British army firing on an unarmed crowd, inciting outrage in the colonies. This was a galvanizing moment in the lead-up to the US revolution.

Why was the Crowd Angry at a British Soldier That Day?

A 17-year-old colonist named Edward Garrish is believed to be the one who got the crowd riled up. He was a wigmaker's apprentice and he was angry that one of the British soldiers had not paid for a wig he got from Garrish's master. What? You've never heard of a revolution starting because someone refused to pay the bill for his wig?

Who Headed the British Soldiers' Defense in Court?

Having murdered an unarmed group of colonists, the British soldiers had a hard time finding a lawyer in the area to defend them. Only the most callous, British-loving, freedom-hating monster would have taken on their case. Nah, just kidding, John Adams defended them. In an effort to demonstrate the impartiality of colonial courts, two Patriot leaders, John Adams and Josiah Quincy, volunteered to defend Captain Preston and his men.  Although he was a patriot, Adams thought that the soldiers deserved a fair trial. Adams argued that the soldiers had the right to defend themselves. He showed that they thought their lives were in danger from the mob that had gathered.

What Were the Results of the Trial?

Of the eight British soldiers tried, six were acquitted and only two found guilty of manslaughter. Those two were able to capitalize on a loophole and invoke what was called the "benefit of the clergy," which allowed them to get out of a longer sentence by reading a passage from the Bible. Then they had their thumbs branded with an “M” for murder as their punishment.  No wonder the colonists were angry.

Answer: The Boston Massacre occurred on this day in 1770 when British soldiers in Boston opened fire on a group of American colonists. Tensions between the American colonists and the British were already running high when a crowd of jeering Bostonians slinging snowballs gathered around a small group of British soldiers guarding the Boston Customs House. Private Hugh Montgomery was hit, leading him to discharge his rifle at the crowd. The other soldiers began firing a moment later, and when the smoke cleared, five colonists were dead.

6 Things You Didn't Know About Oreos

Happy National Oreo Cookie Day folks!  On March 6, 1912, Oreo sandwich cookies were introduced to the public in a grocery store in Hoboken, New Jersey. Whether you dunk them, twist them or eat them whole, here are 6 surprising things you should know about Oreo cookies...

#1. It takes 59 minutes to make an Oreo.

Each Oreo wafer is baked for exactly 290.6 seconds at a temperature of 400°F from above and 300°F from below.  Every Oreo cookie contains 90 ridges, 12 flowers, 12 dashes, and 12 dots.

#2. Cookie Lovers Have Enjoyed More Than 500 Billion Oreos

Since they were invented in 1912, over 500 billion Oreo cookies have been enjoyed around the world.  If all the Oreos ever sold were laid end to end along the equator they could circle the earth 381 times. That same number of cookies stacked could reach the moon and back five times.

#3. Oreos Originally Came in Two Different Flavors

When first invented, Oreos came in two varieties: original and lemon meringue. The original was wildly more popular, and so the lemon variety was discontinued in 1920.

#4. Oreos Come in Some Unusual Flavors Around the World

In Japan and China, Oreos with a green tea flavored filling are popular and designed to appeal to cookie fans. For cream-filled cookie lovers in the Philippines, Oreos with a coconut-flavored filling were introduced. In Indonesia, a blueberry ice cream flavor combines with chocolate cookies for a real treat.  Oreos are available in over 100 countries.

#5. The Origin of the Name is a Mystery

No one knows why the famous cookie is named Oreo. Some say it’s because it’s easy to remember, however, others debate it was named after the origin of the word “Oreo” from the French word for “gold” or the Greek word for “beautiful.”

#6. The Ratio of the Oreo is Precise

The perfection of an Oreo cookie is down to an exact science. The cookie- to- crème ratio of an original Oreo cookie is always, without fail, 71 percent to 29 percent.

Answer: GEICO advertising campaigns are known for using surreal humor and satire, often featuring the company's mascot, the GEICO gecko. The gecko first appeared in 1999, during the Screen Actors Guild strike that prevented the use of live actors. The original commercial features the Gecko, voiced by actor Kelsey Grammer. After some refinement of the character, Jake Wood took over and made the character who he is today. Wood, an English actor, brought a distinct and recognizable accent to the character we all know today.

What artist’s sketch, “The Vitruvian Man,” is said to depict the ideal proportions of the male body?

Answer: The Vitruvian Man was created by Leonardo da Vinci around the year 1487. It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the famed architect, Vitruvius Pollio. The drawing, which is in pen and ink on paper, depicts a male figure in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and simultaneously inscribed in a circle and square. The drawing and text are sometimes called the Canon of Proportions or, less often, Proportions of Man. It is stored in the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, Italy, and, like most works on paper, is displayed only occasionally.
