Why is that so hard to comprehend? Actually, Bonnie, I am not judging. I am trying to tell Gerry that he isn't measuring up because he is not free of iniquity. Neither am I...neither are you...in fact there's no one on the face of this earth that is totally free from the principle of "self" (although it seems mother Teresa came close. jasd Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 QR frame: Hebrews 5:9 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; v10 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; As noted by the author of the book of Hebrews…: Christ was made perfect by the things which he suffered -- that would include His dying… In other words, Christ was not ’made perfect’ until having -- died. …seems to speak to the subject of “perfection” as a matter applicable to individual spheres, might it not?

Rob <hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> You are constructing an argument , something that has never been claimed by others, repeating their position as fact as you see it and then condemning them by how you have defined them. Call it what you will. To determine the motives of every action another takes and then define them as a "blooming legalist" telling them they have no business being an adventist" is judging. You pervert every statement, every belief, every act by others by your own very convenient definitions. You take the love of a mother towards her child, something I believe was instilled in us by God for a purpose and make it something disgraceful and a sin of selfishness. Education is another sin, unless it passes some type of test you have devised, a test others must pass or they are selfish and somehow less because of it. You have gone so far as to determine exactly what a man you do not know has for possesions and in, why he chose to become a DR, and just how vile he is, not one bit different than the pharisees. Every act of human kindness is perverted by you. You determine it is not enough and what the motive of the one doing the kindness actually was. You were even able to determine the act of a man providing something for his children and friends as something he should have been ashamed of. His big sin in your eyes was he might enjoy it at times as well. All the while finding the most convenient and transparent reason why you can continue your sarcastic, judgemental attitude towards others. Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman

Why is that so hard to comprehend? <hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> [:"blue"]It is your twisted theology of selflessness/selfishness that is difficult to comprehend, Rob. Actually, Rob, God has given us principles/laws for success in His word. But your twisted theology of selfishness/selflessness discounts them as legalism or selfishness. Read Dt. 28. Heah, you've even called God's OT words as "legalistic junk"! Fact is, He even gave us principles/laws that promote good health, heah, principles/laws that can extend one's life in this Satan-ruled disease-infested planet. God's principles/laws do not lead to pverty, even in this world. Jesus chose to become poor so that we may become rich! Friend, you have made a mantra of calling me a legalist. What you can't/don't seem to understand is that lawlessness results in chaos, even if you are under grace. While we are not saved by our obedience, grace does not do away with obedience. Grace leads to repentance, Rom 2:4; and leads us to obedience, Rom 1:5. I have made this clear over & over in my posts. Obedience to principles/laws, by & large leads to success even in this world largely ruled by Satanic principles because God is still in control. Good health is no accident. Neither is success in schoolwork, child-rearing, business, or marital relationships. Oh, yeah, many people become "successful" also using Satanic principles, but ultimately lead to shame, often times even in this world, as Ken Lay & his ilk have shown. If you want to continue your twisted theology of selfishness/selflessness, go right ahead, but I'm done responding to your posts on this thread. [/] Gerry
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted August 5, 2006 Moderators Posted August 5, 2006 This post is just tagging on to the last one. Due to personal reasons, I have not followed this thead as closely as I should have. The result has been that some comments were made that I should have edited, but I did not. I apologize for that. Due to the length of time that some of those comments have been posted, I have not edited them now. To many people have already read them. But, I ask youl-all to cool it. NOTE: On comment that will get my attention very quicklly is to call someone else a lier, or to say that they lied. Such comments pass over the line, so do not make them. It is O. K. to say that someone is wrong. But, do not call them a liar. Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted August 6, 2006 Moderators Posted August 6, 2006 This thread began as a serious question by a person that wanted an answer. Many good answers have been given. I than you all for that. But, due in part to my failure to follow this thread as closely as I should have done over the past few days, the time has come to close it. I apologize again for doing so. Let us move on to another topic. Thank you for the many positive contributions that have been made here. Gregory
