GET BAPTISED INTO THE MORMON CHURCH

I have no desire to be baptized into ANY church. I am glad that our church follows the Biblical method of Baptism. We don't baptize anyone into our church. The only way you can belong to our church is through a vote of 50% of those present.

The Biblical baptism is into the Body Of Christ. It is not an exclusive denomination of any kind. The Body is representitive of ALL believers in ALL faiths.

I would never belong to a church that felt Baptism was into THEIR faith.

I prefer to follow the Bible and my Lord ... Jesus Christ and HIS teachings. Can you tell me where it says that Jesus was baptized into the Morman church?

May we be one so that the world may be won.

We beleive that we will become like god.

Sure! That is the lie that the devil told to Eve in the Garden of Eden "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good from evil." Genesis 3:4,5.

And now you are telling me that you believe what Satan said!!

Robbie, the devil has deceived you, too. Please come back to God.

Beryl

And what is the definition of a god anyway. Just wondering.

All Powerful?

All Knowing?

Given our current technology would we be considered gods if we could go back in time 3000 years to Davids time.

Not that we would be gods but that we would "seem" to be gods to the ancient man. Flying in machines and killing from a great distance with rockets and missiles ect. Fire from heaven so to speak.

So what is the definition of a god? We need a clarification so we can find a common ground of discussion.

The ancient Axtecs and Incas had ancient prophecies of white gods coming from a great distance. When Cortez came they thought these were the gods. White men riding great beasts (Horses) Carry weapons that could kill from a great distance. (Muskets and cannons). Only when one of the horses and men died did the Aztecs realize they were no gods. But it was to late by then.

There is nothing in the bible that says or implys Saten and or his angels can read minds. They can read our faces and body language just like the rest of us who knows a person very well but not read minds.

Since the Bible doesn't say they can or can't ... how do you jump to the conclusion that they can't? I am perhaps not understanding something here. Can you explain?

Lol. You are so wrong its funny. It shows how little you know..

For one, we do not contradict the bible, however many churches do. And I hope you find truth..

Oh really?

In light of the Sabbath, show me how you conform to Jesus' day of worship from biblical evidence... If you have to refer to ANY thing extra-biblical,I will concider that you have lost the arguement.

Quote:
Also, SDA is the ONLY church that celebrates the sabbath on saturday. When you know the bible correctly, and add the days up right.. u will see the sabbath day is actually on sunday.

Saturday is not the Sabbath Day.

Look that one up.

I have...are you sure you want to go there?

Quote:
Yes, god will Not say no to mormonism becuase its right. God does not lie.

I will agree that God does not lie....But as for God supporting mormonism....and saying that it is the truth....I am sorry, but I dont think that there is enough evidence to support that claim...especially in light of the weighty evidence to the contrary.

Quote:
Obviously you did not pray with all of your heart if you got some "feeling" that the book of mormon is not right. You will have to pray over and over again until you are answered, becuase i can honestly tell you... that I know its right and i was answered. Not only by feeling, but much much more..

You got a lot of presumption to say that I didnt pray with all of my heart..I think I did...and I did it on more than one occassion...on my knees...The answer on all those occassions was the same..."move on. Not moroni. Not mormonism. " You can't get answers like that without careful prayer and listening...

And the honest truth of this situation is that if you deny my experience, then I can deny yours...And I am reluctant to deny anyone's experience, since the world is much bigger than I am and I don't know all....I know enough, but not all...

Now, if you want someone who knows all, I suggest that you contact David Koots, or Olger...They seem to think that they know all...And we, here on clubAdventist, are nice enough to let them think that. And while they are pretty smart in some areas, we know when to chide them just enough to cause a bit of doubt...It keeps them humble and managable...otherwise they would have a hard time going thru the virtual door here at ClubAdventist...

Quote:
and if we are talking about false prophets here....please, lets go no further..ellen white was obviously the false prophet. Who stole writings............

Well, I never brought up EGW and I have no intention of doing so...But she was wise enough to step aside and let the bible shine when there was a supposed conflict between her and the bible...She specifically said that she was "the lessor light pointing to the greater light". And our doctrines, such as the Sabbath, are from the bible...And that is where we search for our salvation and lifes treasures....

Neil my friend ... while your comments about Dave and Olger were funny ... they just MAY get you in trouble. Well ... I guess you are big enough to handle them.

But about Ellen White ... I think you have done a great job. Our church is NOT built on Ellen White. We can certainly toss her out the door and still have our beliefs.

tomato

OK stop throwing the tomatoes ... but this is true. As good and helpful she is ... our church is build on the Bible and the Bible alone. She herself said this. Her purpose was to point to the Bible and she does a beautiful job of that.

However ... you do not have to believe in Ellen White to be voted in as an SDA ... so if Robby needs to toss her .... he is welcome to do that and still be an SDA.

So niel tell me....

you bleieve in what is written, right?

So, your telling me..that you dont truly know the bible is right? You just follow it becuase it is written...WOW..Interesting.

So you follow Man, right? Since men have told you the bible is right, thats why you follow it? wow, interesting...

So you follow something without the confirmation of god???

Im sorry.

Well goodluck in following something in which you beleive to be right becuase "man" said so...Without your heart being in the right place...or without asking god into your life...I hope you will follow what Is "written" becuase you know its right becuase god has confirmed it and not becuase man said so.

So in other words..you dont truly know what is right or wrong...is basically what it sounds like..Before disuccing the bible or BoM, iw ould suggest that you pray for god into your life..with all intent..heart in the right place..

and then ask of the bible and book of mormon.

Good luck.

I know the difference between comprehendtion and just following someone's elses words. I also know the difference between me being right and some warm gooey feeling that I pray for....

I know, due to MUCH expereince with my feelings, that I have been wrong...I have gone with that gut feeling and been wrong...I have also gone with the gut feeling and been totally right on the money...but I also know that feeling are not 100% accurate. And someone's etheral feeling that what God is telling them is right just don't cut to my quick very well...infact, it tends to grate on my nerves like someone scratching the blackboard.

No, a court of law states that if you want a contract to be binding, you need a written document, otherwise it's just someone's else's word over yours...And that don't mean squat. So, you got to come up with something better than your "feeling" to prove to me that your God is right for everyone. And you got to come up with something better than MY feelings that something is right...and it better had be something that I can decern...and not feel...

As for 'knowing the bible is right', can you show me where, in regards of salvation, that the bible is wrong? [Please note what Ihave posted here..] After all, I have over 1900 years to show that people have died for the words of the bible...those words were ratified in blood and these were not just flippant men and women, such as J. Smith, but rather men and women of thought and careful consideration....And I confirm what those men and women have said...and I have that experiemental knowledge of God and know Him well enough to be able to know His leadings...

I go by the logic that if it is NOT in scripture then I can assume it is not true.

Don't you think that the bible would tell us something that important that Devils can read minds?

No all scripture says is that we fight against demons and the supernatural beings. Supernatural means they can do things like be invisible and have great strength but not all knowing and not all powerful. No I do not make assumptions like that unless scripture plainly tells us that Demons can read mind. Nothing in scripture says that. We cannot assume that either.

I'm interested in knowing what our friend thinks of the relationship of the LDS church and Freemasonry, whose members pledging their allegiance to Lucifer whom they believe to be the true "Light Bearer"

From what I've learned, J Smith the high ranking Freemason set about to use Freemasonry to bring the LDS church into "truth"

That is scary

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Satan and his angels being not able to read minds...

The Bible certainly implies this in the account of Nebuchadnezzar in the time of Daniel. Not only did he require his wise men to interpret the dream but if they were indeed able to communicate with the "gods" then they should also be able to tell what the dream was.

That is an EXCELLANT point. I did not think about that. Yes that does prove that Saten cannot read minds or He would have been able to see that vision when Nebuchadnezzer had it.

Saten also looks over the prophets sholders as they wrote their visions down. If Saten could read minds why would he have to read prophecy as he should already know it from their minds.

Okay, this is the payback I get! I simply tell the truth about Neil's conservative leanings, and now I get mentioned in the same breath as that German Anabaptist guy, as if he and I are somehow arch-conservatives in cahoots. Wow, Neil, I musta really hit the nail on the head! The truth hurts, doesn't it?
