bonnie Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Quote: I would try to give a well thought out response Robert - but no matter how many times I read your post in relation to what you quoted from me - I can make to connection to what you are trying to say. The two just don't gel. Master at deflection. Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
bonnie Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 “There is no one righteous, not even one" So "yes" Bonnie, you better not be under the law. Master at stating the obvious aren't you.No one claimed to be righteous.Hard for you to grasp simple english? Robert,I trust God,not you and your skewed, twisted, convoluted gospel Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Master at stating the obvious aren't you. Funny, before I gave you the answer you couldn't answer..
bonnie Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked." Something to remember isn't it? Personally I think you do a rather good job on that score You don't get it....All the so called good things you do are filthy rags before God. They are polluted with selfishness. In other words you aren't doing good. Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 You want an answer,I will give you the courtesy you refuse others. Great...this should be a "yes" or "no". Wow, all this and still no answer. How hard can it be?
bonnie Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Funny, before I have you the answer you couldn't answer.. Nothing funny about it. I didn't intend to answer. You are requiring a courtesy you refuse in your arrogance to give to others. I can't say it strongly enough. You are a biblical opportunist.Using only selected texts to hammer others, forgetting all others and putting your own twisted logic forth as proof Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. Nothing I do or nothing I say is done with the incentive of looking good to you, your God or anyone. I do things I do, live the style I live, have the beliefs I have because they are the things that I have found to be right and true. I look to the Gods I honour for guidance and for love. But I don't do anything to try to impress them either. Deity are powerful beings with a totally different mindset and set of values than we have as humans. As a human we have the values we have and live as we live so that we can survive and experience this existence. I am not mocking your God.
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked." Something to remember isn't it? Yes..if you think you can remain under law and make it to heaven you are mocking Christ. You are deceiving yourself. There are many, many self-deceived folks throughout the world. They are self-righteous and they see no need of Christ's righteousness.
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 You are a biblical opportunist. And you are self-righteous.
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 No Robert, you don't get it. Nothing I do or nothing I say is done with the incentive of looking good....
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I am not mocking your God. He is your God and by rejecting Him you are defeating yourself. "God destroys no man. Everyone who is destroyed will have destroyed himself. Everyone who stifles the admonitions of conscience is sowing the seeds of unbelief, and these will produce a sure harvest" (Christ's Object Lessons, 84).

There are many, many self-deceived folks throughout the world. They are self-righteous and they see no need of Christ's righteousness. As I or anyone else has never claimed that heaven would be gained by keeping the law try a little honesty. You have to respond in a completely dishonest manner to make yourself look ever so righteous. Your dishonesty doesn't say much for what you claim to believe. Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I do believe the ten commandments applies to our lives today. So you are under law? Keep in mind the law is much bigger than 10 brief commandments. The law, says Paul, is spiritual. Christ came to expand the law. Hence murder is not just an action, but a thought. If you hate someone (even someone who did evil to you) you are a murderer in the eyes of the law. You can't pick and chose when it comes to the law. You must do everything in order to be justified, not just the stuff you find easy. See Gal 3:10
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Your dishonesty doesn't say much for what you claim to believe. It is you who are dishonest. You are Roman Catholic at heart. You believe in partial credit....Most SDA do. I hear it all the time...."I do my best, and Christ makes up the rest". That's at the heart of Roman Catholicism. It's pride - subtle legalism.

Number one,I never claimed to keep the law perfectly.Frankly I think what you are trying to convince everyone is the devils way to discourage people. You can't keep the law,it is a sin to believe the law applies today. Some people are very wise in their own eyes. As I have never claimed to hate anyone maybe you should choose another sin. I sincerely do feel sorry for you in the respect of your attitude and how your belief shapes your condemnation of everyone else while you revel in the filthy wretch you are. Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I never claimed to keep the law perfectly. Then under law you must die. Break one, you break all of them. Who said that? James. James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Your presentation of what you learned from "jack" is why I think he is a very dangerous man to the gospel Yes, he is very dangerous to the gospel that brings glory to men....The gospel is not I, but Christ....No credit for you. Nothing you do can improve on what God did in Christ Jesus. You are complete in Him and can add nothing!
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I sincerely do feel sorry for you .... I don't care, Bonnie. I am complete in Christ.
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Prove it. I know you will say that only God can prove that to me. Well he hasn't. He has been given every opportunity. Romans 1:18 The wrath of God (His reluctant departure because of persistent unbelief) is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

Oh wow! It makes all kinds of sense now. Your Gods invisible qualities are clearly seen. Of course! Why was I so foolish to not see that before. See here is the thing. I don't disbelieve that your God exists. I don't disbelieve that Jesus may have walked this earth, that he may have died on a cross for his peoples wrongs. I find it admirable, I find it beautiful. But note I said HIS PEOPLE. Just as other deity watch over their people. For most of the worlds history that was a cultural thing. Now it is global. There is much of the divine to be seen all around us indeed. Thing is, I think what you call God is not the Divine itself. He is a part of it. A deity worshiped and honoured by many. But that does not make him the one and only true God!
Robert Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 ... that does not make him the one and only true God! Your unbelief will be repaid in the 2nd death. You and you alone are responsible for your destruction. Why not live? Forsake your false gods and allow the God of agape in your life.
M. T. Cross Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 No, I don't believe it will. But lets look at the options here. I stop honouring the Gods I honour and become a Christian. I would only be doing so out of fear of this second death. It would not be out of love or out of a desire to serve or honour him. It would be a lie. So on that basis I doubt I would make it to heaven anyways. I don't think your God likes being lied to. But lets say he is ok with that. I get to heaven! Well I don't think he would be to happy with my personality type there. You see, he says that after he destroys Satan and all of Satans wicked people - there will be no more sin. For all of eternity. How did sin start? It started with Lucifer not being satisfied with the answers he got to the questions he asked. Well I can very much see that happening if I was there as well. I would want some solid answers to the things that bug me. If I did not like the answer I would not be satisfied to just accept it. That was a problem the first time someone felt that way - right? Then there comes the people I would have to spend eternity with. While there would be a whole lot of wonderful people there, I would also have to see and spend time with smug, self-righteous Christians. For eternity! No thank you! The idea of no sex for eternity bothers me a lot as well. But see Robert... I spent the first 30+ years of my life allowing your God in my life. In the depths of addiction I still worshiped him. I desperately sought him out and tried to build a personal relationship with him. It never happened. There was no connection there. Just fear. Just hopelessness and the feeling of being a pawn in this great battle he and his arch rival have going on. You call my Gods false. I will choose to pass on commenting on the ignorance and rudeness of that statement and again ask you - prove it. Prove it in some way that I can believe. That means no EQW, and it means no Bible.
