When Christ's character shall be perfectly reproduced in his people...

If you think that does away with half of God's law you're deluded by the sundaykeepers and ex-SDA heretics.
The whole law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

The Sabbath is a future sign whose meaning is meaningless now....

Whoever obeys the fourth commandment will find that a separating line is drawn between him and the world. The Sabbath is a test, not a human requirement, but God's test. It is that which will distinguish between those who serve God and those who serve him not; and upon this point will come the last great conflict of the controversy between truth and error. {CCh 268.2}

EGW didn't clearly see the Sabbath significance. She tied it to the law, but it's really tied to the gospel restored....It's a future sign....

In all ages the Sabbath has been the test of loyalty to God. "It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever," the Lord declares.--Gospel Workers, pp. 148, 149. (1915) {Ev 226.1}

And they nailed Christ to the cross....One reason: Sabbath breaking....

Again, much of the "book of the law" is OC....Get in the NT....

Many lessons to unlearn....She's not the final word....

I must go with the Bible and not some denomination that's gone to great lengths to make it a litmus test for heaven....

You're to far gone to argue with. You have bought the lie.

Why did God rest?

The Sabbath has nothing to do with physical rest....This is speculation....

If you read Deut. 5: 14, 15, it will be clear that the Sabbath has to do with physical rest. It commands the people to see to it that their servants and even their animals "may rest as well as you," and reminds them that when they were in Egypt they could not keep the Sabbath, and therefore they are to let their servants rest also. (Compare Deut. 24: 18, 22)

It's been pointed out before on numerous posts that the Dead Sea Scrolls show that both reasons for Sabbath keeping were given originally in Deut. 5. The Sabbaths are days of joy (Deut. 16: 10-12, 14) and of spiritual and physical rest (Lev. 23: 3, 4).

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Now you're just trying to make me feel sorry for you.

Answer the question...if you can!

That's nice, but Deut if full of OC language...You also were stoned if you carried firewood....etc....If you go with one definition, you must go with "disobey and die" too....Funny, I don't see folks stoning sabbath breakers....Again, get out of the OC...

physical rest

Adam and Eve didn't need to physically rest....Neither did God....So at its inception the Sabbath had nothing to do with physical rest....IT was a sign....Now, why did God rest?

because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2Th 2:10,11

Did you not love the truth Robert?

Context: The truth is Jesus....Not the Sabbath...

Dosn't matter why, the fact is he did, and he commanded us to. Nothing can change that, not you, not even serequell. The Sabbath will even be kept in heaven.

You can't answer why, but you insist that others blindly follow....This is the making of a cult....Don't reason, just do as I say....You are [unreasonable]! teehe

We've already been over this dozens of times before. Of course the Sabbath originally was not on account of the need of physical rest. It was a spiritual rest and a celebration of the perfect creation. But God knew that we would also need the physical rest, since he knows the end from the beginning. After sin, the purpose of the Sabbath clearly changed to one of physical rest as well as spiritual rest. Before the Fall, mankind did not need physical rest the same as he did after the Fall. Remember all the work that would be required AFTER the Fall. See Gen. 3: 17-19. That situation is quite a bit different than it was before the Fall. The Creator Himself declared that the Sabbath was made to be a benefit to us. He obviously had in mind not only the spiritual rest but the physical rest that He knew as a man that humans need.

John 3:16-17

You can't reason with a person full of preconceived ideas, John....You refuse advancing truth and therefore you become trapped in the traditions of men....

If you can't understand the origins of the Sabbath, then you can't understand anything that comes after that....
