infanticide is irrelevant to abortion

Infanticide has been replaced by abortion. If it wasn't for abortion, many societies, perhaps even the US, would still practice infanticide.

we're not talking about infanticide here. Irrelevant.

And I very much doubt the US would practice infanticide, unless, of course, your religion required it.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Female infanticide and abortion have increased in recent years as women opt for smaller families. In India the sex ratio is 93 women for every 100 men, but in some regions there are fewer than 85 women per 100 men. Research carried out at a Mumbai (formerly Bombay) hospital revealed in 1995 that for every aborted male, there were 1,000 aborted females.

Why aren't you torqued off about the way female abortion and infanticide are being used as a form of discrimination against females?

irrelevant. Discrimination against females is not the issue here.

My point, as ever, is that I refuse to force my own belief system on a woman who is facing the decision on having an abortion or not.

Actually, infanticide and abortion are very related so when discussing one it is appropriate to discuss the other. The only difference is the termination of one life happens while the baby is in the womb and the termination of life with the other happens after the baby is outside of the womb.

If one studies world history they will find that infanticide pretty much ended as the practice of abortion started. Abortion pretty much replaced infanticide.

Not really. If it was, there wouldn't be much controversy surrounding abortion.

Yes, really. There is a big difference. The controversy surrounding abortion is basically a matter of giving a woman the prerogatives to choose what is done to her body without interference from anyone else. Infanticide is something completely different.

No, the controversy around abortion is about terminating innocent human life. That is the same thing which is done with infanticide. Abortion and infanticide both accomplish the same thing.

Prostitution is all about giving a woman the prerogatives to choose what is done to her body without interference from anyone else.

Note to Nic: I suggest you remove your PhD diploma from your website. It is laughable. You are using it to establish your knowledge of a subject which you obviously do NOT have valid credentials for. Your dissertation is a joke. And unprofessional one, at that.
Hey Pam,would you please expand further on that "stupid, childish insults" comment that you previously posted?

Actually, Carolyn passed away last month.

Karl. Thanks for sharing that story.Praise God for Carolyn's selfless, loving mother and all those others (including you)who helped make her life "more abundant". Everytime I here a story like this it causes me to question the depth of my own commitment to Christ. Carolyn's mom is a real hero!"Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these..."

No, the controversy around abortion is whether or not a woman has the prerogative to control what happens with her body without the interference from anyone else.

You WISH to make it a life/death issue. I don't see as such.

That's true. So what?

The first was your argument about why unborn children can be disposed of at will.

So, using the same argument, I guess we should not object to cultures that treat women as possessions, to be disposed of at will

Embryos are not women.

Let's get something clear. I am pro-choice when there is rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is at risk, or when tests reveal that the fetus would not function on its own outside the uterus. I AM for the woman to make a decision about her own body without outside harrassment. I do not condone the murder of physicians who perform abortions.

Now. You can argue till the cows come home, but you won't change my mind about this.
