Twilight Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 No truth in yo-yo's. You might want to re-look at your understanding of the Gospel. Your gospel ain't in the book that I read. The bible is not something we "read" my friend, it is something the Lord opens up to us. If you are having trouble grasping these simple truths, then you need the eyesalve of the Spirit. Because without that, nothing I or anyone else will say will ever reach you. And you can argue from here to the lake of fire that you are saved in your sins, but that argument will not stop you burning brother. Mark Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...
Woody Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I ain't burnin' and I ain't goin' ta burn. I am Saved brother. Do you question that? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Twilight Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I ain't burnin' and I ain't goin' ta burn. I am Saved brother. Do you question that? It is not a matter of "question" it is a matter of fact. I know you are not saved. No one will be saved living in willfull sin. Only those that are "in Christ" will be saved. Sin has to be destroyed and all those things that are connected to it will also be destroyed. Whilst you claim you will be saved in your sin, I know you are lost. Because you do not know the Lord. Why do I say that? Because of this: Mat 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. You are saying "Lord, Lord..." And are "working iniquity". According to Jesus' judgement, you do not know the Lord. So no, you are not saved, and I love you too much to be gentle with this. Mark Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...

The issue here Redwood, is that you and the bible do not agree. Only one of you can be right. So if you saying something that disagrees with a plain statement of scripture, then what you are saying must be wrong. Saying you are saved in sin, is directly oppossed to what Jesus said. I would ask that you not take offense at what I have said, but that you consider this. I do not want you to burn brother. Mark Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...
skyblue888 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 As we abide in Christ and Christ abides in us according to the will of God, as expressed in John 15:4, the ten commandments become promises to us, most positive promises of their own fulfilment, for "All the promises of God in Christ are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." 2 Cor.1:20. None are saved by obedience and yet obedience is the fruit of faith. "Works without faith are dead, and faith without works is dead. Works will never save us; it is the merit of Christ that will avail in our behalf." E.G. White, Signs of the Times, June 16, 1890. This, I believe, is what Twilight is saying. So I have to agree with him on this. sky For those who abide in Christ and Christ in them, "The law of ten precepts of the greatest love that can be presented to man is the voice of God from Heaven speaking to the soul in promise... There is not a negative in that law although it may appear thus." Letter 89,1898. Of course, if we fall, we have an Advocate who is pleading the merits of His blood before the Father in our behalf and who is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

LifeHiscost Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I live in victory in Christ my friend, (I know how much this will scare some people). :-) Praise God. Mark :-) The victory based upon, in a real sense, the righteousness of Christ allows for no loopholes for the enemy of souls, to which he can take advantage. And I'm not convinced I don't need the imputed righteousness every bit as much if not more than the imparted righteousness. OTOH the Way Jesus provides is a journey, and the destination is glorification, which is a gift the sinner need not fear the sovereign Lord is unable to provide. Praise God for your Life in Him. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18 KJV Blessings! I have learned some things my friend. There are many that say "you cannot have the victory" and are correct. There are many that say "you can have the victory" and are correct. And this is the dilemna we face as a people. Those that recognise we cannot have the victory have missed the next step. That "in Christ" we can have the victory. It is true, that in our "flesh" we cannot have the victory, but in Christ we can. Then there are those that say we can have the victory, but think it is some future event they will attain to by much hard work. But that is again error. It is still in the flesh. If we are in Christ, we have the victory... This is the point I am hoping to discuss on this thread. :-) We have imbibed some "wrong" teaching as a people and there are some things we do not understand, but when they are corrected, we can walk with God in victory. These corrections are so simple, that when it comes, we will be singing: "I once was lost, but now am found..." Mark :-) Quote The best wisdom is always second hand...

And you claim perfection? Now you say "that someone claiming they are 'saved' in willful sin will be lost." Notice you went from telling Redwood "I know you [Redwood] are not saved (present tense)" to not naming Redwood directly.... Moderators Gerr Posted December 3, 2009 Moderators Posted December 3, 2009 Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Half a gospel. I'm glad to see someone else has noticed this. I've been telling Robert for several years now that he's only presenting half of the gospel, which, yes, is no gospel at all after all. Quote

He also said:"And you are clean, BUT NOT EVERY ONE OF YOU. For he knew who was to betry him; that was why he said, NOT ALL OF YOU ARE CLEAN." Jn 13:10-11 ESV. Judas could not be cleansed because he was willfully clinging to an idol. Balaam could not die the death of the righteous as he wished because there was a sin he could/would not give up. King Saul could not be cleansed because he kept disobeying what God told him to do. Ditto Annanias and his wife. And Demas would not endure. Quote
