May I loan you some glasses....you seem to reading something that was not said. I will try to make it plainer for you......it's about making it the women's fault!! Read your own post...'alluring women triggers impure thought'....change the thought patterns! Isn't that what belief in Christ brings about?????? So if I'm outside mowing my yard, thinking about how much work I need to do on trimming my trees and a couple of attractive (or not) girls dressed(??)in their thongs, walk up and ask me if I have seen their lost dog, that it's my fault for having to fight a battle with my thoughts? The fact is that men are now forced to fight a battle that they did not willingly pick because of the indescretions or insensitivities of someone else. Quote

If you don't like how you feel when tempted ... simply ask God to remove that part of your male psycy so that you have victory from it. From what I understand ... God will remove all impurities from you and make you whole if only you want. Now if you have done that and you still have that male psycy ... then it ain't YOUR fault. You've done YOUR part by asking the only person who can give you victory. It is now God's problem. No longer feel guilty. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. doug yowell Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I think we're mixing modesty with health. Wouldn't it be healthier to go without any unnatural(au naturale)encumberences? Quote

Dude, you need some very narrow field of view blinders!!! Quote
ClubV12 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Well it DOES depend on how she is dressed! In some cases I would indeed consider it harassement, if not illegal depending on the extreme, the time and the place. Teeny bikini at the mall? You might be asked to leave, for harassing people, possibly be aressted for public nudity. At the beach? Might be OK, depends on the bikini. Hawaii has laws that address the teeny bikini issue, cross the line and you could be arrested. Societys standards are SO far below God's standard of acceptable modesty it is difficult for many to even understand the problem. What is God's standard? Well pretty much everything that has been suggested here as a "BASE LINE" for modesty has been rejected. Apparently some women don't even grasp the problem and want to pretend it doesn't exist. To which I would say, "Tell it to the Judge", what ever Judge you may abide under. Civil if you push it to far, or Heavenly if you have a clue. Quote
cricket Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 To which I will add that some men do not even grasp the problem and want to pretend that modesty for men does not exist. Quick question: Any of you men here go swimming in public without a shirt on? Or, mow a lawn, barbeque, jog, wash the car, et cetera--while shirtless? Quote
Dr. Shane Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Wouldn't it be healthier to go without any unnatural(au naturale)encumberences? I guess it depends on how far we want to take it. Do we say no dying hair? How about trimming fingernails? Is shaving OK or do we need to let the beard be "natural". How fancy are we allowed to have the buttons on our shirts? Only plain white socks allowed? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
ClubV12 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I was working at a construction site one summer, it was hot. I removed my shirt and was immediately told to put it back on, not allowed! That was many years ago too. Quote
cricket Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I, for one, am glad that it was not allowed. Quote

Woody Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 If you are talking about Great Lakes Grandma's white hairy chest, you're in trouble!!! Why are we discussing GLG's hairy chest? I sincerely doubt that she has a hairy chest let alone a white one. I think it best that we not discuss her chest. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
