People understand virtually everything in a lot of different ways-- that is the nature of humans--- but here, I am telling you what I believe is true, not what others believe. Christ's kingdom is not really set up until Christ returns for His church. That is when all the kingdoms of the earth will be overthrown and replaced by the reign of God. It is the end of human history as we know it. See Daniel 2: 44. "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces." Daniel 2:44-45. Let us compare this text to these texts! "In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”" Matthew 3:1-3. John the Baptist states that the "Kingdom of Heaven" is NEAR! That means it cannot be thousands of years later! "From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." Matthew 4:17. Now we have Jesus Christ's own Word which also says that the Kingdom of Heaven is not thousands of years to come but it is "NEAR"! "As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’" Matthew 10:7. In this instance we have Jesus Christ commanding His Disciples to preach that the Kingdom of Heaven is "NEAR"! Again it is not thousands of years yet to come! "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it." Matthew 11:12. Sounds like the Kingdom of Heaven is already HERE! And people are already participating in the Kingdom of Heaven. Again, not thousands of years later! "He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them." Matthew 13:11. Again the Kingdom of Heaven is already here and some are learning its secrets in their "here and now". Again not thousands of years later. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to." Matthew 23:13. Again, this text states that the Kingdom of Heaven is already here in the days of Jesus Christ's first coming and that the Jewish leaders are keeping humans from accessing the Kingdom of Heaven. Again, no thousands of years yet to come! It was already here in the days of Jesus Christ's first coming! God expects people to experience the Kingdom of Heaven here and now! Indeed where ever the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven is preached the Kingdom of Heaven has smashed the workings of humans. Just as the text in Daniel stated Jesus Christ's first coming is when the Kingdom of Heaven "in the time of these kings (Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome)" did smash these human kingdoms. Notice the Daniel text says "in the time of these kings" and then lists these kings by their substance. Even Daniel in chapter two tells us that the "Rock cut out without hands" takes place under the time period of "these kings". NOT THOUSANDS OF YEARS IN THE FUTURE! That means the Daniel could not possibly be talking about thousands of years later. You see the Bible is very simple and easy in its message! No complicated, time lines, complex historical stuff, no linguistical gymnastics, no implied thises or thats, etc. Just simply reading what the straight Word of God actually says. Quote

miz3 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Daniel chapter two sets the parameters for the beginning and ending of all the prophetic material contained in the Book of Daniel! That means none of the events predicted therein could ever cover thousands of years. Second there is no time period mentioned in the Book of Daniel that spans thousands of years. Every time period is mentioned in days, weeks, and times (always short number of years). Everything begins with the Babylonian Empire and ends with the Roman Empire! That's it! NO THOUSANDS OF YEARS! NO PREDICTIONS OF THE SDA CHURCH! NO INVESTIGATIVE JUDGMENT! NO SDA SANCTUARY DOCTRINE! Why? For all the reasons stated above and the key fact that there is no Biblical year/day principle! Quote
Dr. Rich Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Originally Posted By: Dr. Rich The truth was taken and trampled upon and destroyed for thousands of years, until the time came for the establishment of the LAST Kingdom of Heaven, the same as the Rock cut out w/o hands in Dan. 2, and the group that Jesus said would receive the KOH in Matthew 21:43. The time for this restoration of the KOH and it's host was established by the 2300 years found in Dan. 8:14. What was restored was the truth regarding God's covenant and a group now called Adventists saw this and proclaimed they would now keep all of the covenant, thus restoring the truth of God's commandments. I agree with you to the extent that God raised up the Advent Movement for the purpose of calling the world's attention to God's down-trodden law. That is part of the Three Angels Messages, which is to be proclaimed to the whole wolrd just before Christ returns. But why would you say this at the same time that you tell people that God's prophet among the Adventists was inspired by the Devil? And why would you say this about Daniel 8: 14 at the same time that you claim the Great Disappointment was not a movement of God? By the way, the Rock cut out w/o hands in Daniel 2 represents the second coming of Christ to establish His everlasting kingdom. It is not the establishment of the SDA church. Good questions John317. Yes, it is clear the Adventists represent the Ten Virgins AND the rock cut out w/o hands, but they are not yet finished as they are now sleepiing. Satan knows about those who are most dangerious to him and the Advenstist are, no doubt about that! But just as Satan also knew that the apostles/disciples of Jesus Christ were a serious threat to him so that he had to sowe the seeds of the tares among the wheat by using Saul/Paul to tweak the real truth just a little to cause confusion and deceit thereby making the truth disapear, that Satan used this poor little girl to do the same thing as Paul did, which worked so well that the prophecy found in Rev. 2:18-26 and 3:4 shows that only a few will not be fooled. The time was correct, the event was wrong. Jesus prophesied about the great disappointment in Matthew 25:1-13, so that we could know and identify the Kingdom of Heaven in the last generation. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Thanks for this. John317, Jesus comes to seal the 144k and 5 wise prior to the time of trouble starting because this is the coming like a thief when the world will be doing just about what it is now doing. Matthew 25:1-13 show that even God's Kingdom of Heaven is found to be sleeping when Jesus comes like a thief. Please read what the world will be like when Jesus comes in the clouds and you will see that the whole world will not be like it is right now. The two events are impossible to be the same. Quote

Miz3, you need to go back and take some very elementary Bible studies, because you don't have the slightest clue as to what you're talking about where Bible prophecy is concerned. Which brings me to something i've wondered about, and now I'm going to ask. Since you are obviously not an SDA, why is it that you choose to come here and argue with us about what we know and believe? I'm sure you aren't doing it just to keep us on our toes. Do you just enjoy arguing? What? Here are some fairly basic Bible studies that can do nothing but help you. You can do them online, or they will mail them to you. Lysimachus Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Does Zechariah 14 tell of the Lord's future second coming? What about the other prophets .... do they see this? Would Daniel not also do the same? He does for sure and if any cannot find the evidence I will show it to you Zechariah 14 is about the 3rd coming, post-millennial, for the judgment of the wicked and to condemn them to the Lake of Fire. When the Saints come with Christ to the Mount of Olives, this will be antitypically realized as shown in Revelation when the New Jerusalem comes down out of heaven, at the end of the millennium. John extracts numerous elements from Zechariah 14, Ezekiel 38 and 39, and redefines their global, antitypical application revolving the New Jerusalem as the capital of the saints in Revelation 20 and 21. One more time: Zechariah 14 is not the Second Coming. It's a Third Coming. And not for salvation, but for the judgment and execution of the wicked, and so the meek can inherit the earth made new.
