Woody Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Quote: Sooooo...what is the intent of yor post?? I agree CoA. Scripture means absolutely nothing unless you explain your individual twist on it and what you are trying to prove. If you don't add your interpretation - then we are left to assume you are twisting scripture to meet your own agenda. And we don't want to do that. So my message it Gibs is - FESS UP. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Gibs Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I think it is called comphrehension of simple texts that can't be twisted only but tried to by ones who don't want to accept the message they bring. My words are nothing to most so I post scripture and SOP writings, well you need to argue with Jesus on them. My ajenda is the true gospel of being saved from sin and not saved in sin. Is that allowable to you? I hope so. Anyway there is His Blessings for all who find His way to do it, saved from SIN and from committing sin! Our hard hearts should be melted, please read, just one paragraph well said. "We are not to continue in sin that grace may abound; we are to cease from transgression. The love of Christ manifested in the infinite sacrifice which he has made in Calvary, is without a parallel. It is sincere, devoted, measureless, and meets the emergency of the sinner's case, awakening in the heart of those who receive it, respect and reverence for the holy law of God. In the light reflected from Calvary, the law is seen to be holy, just, and good. It cost the life of the Son of God to pay the debt of transgression which the sinner had incurred. It is when the sinner has a realization of the offensive character of sin, a realization to some extent of what it cost the Son of God to redeem him, to give him another trial and probation, that his heart is filled with love and gratitude, and an earnest faith awakens that works by love and purifies the soul. This faith and love will be seen in the soul of him who is truly converted to God; and he who experiences the love of God, will ever feel humiliation and repentance for past transgression. If Christ had to make so great a sacrifice, if he had to endure such sufferings because of my sin, shall I not bow in humility, and regret that I have inflicted such grief upon his divine soul? Shall I not fear lest I shall crucify the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame? The soul who appreciates the precious gift of salvation will ever behold Christ dying upon the cross, and the language of that soul will be the language of unselfish sorrow that he has ever committed sin to so wound the Son of God. I shall always grieve that I have sinned, and have cost the Man of Calvary so great anguish. I look upon him whom I have pierced, and I mourn that I have transgressed the law of God. When we have a proper appreciation of the sacrifice that has been made in our behalf, we shall not plead for the privilege of continuing in transgression. We shall put away sin, and our hard hearts will melt under the amazing love of Christ for our souls". {ST, October 28, 1889 par. 3} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Woody Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Gibs - just quoting what YOU feel is simple straight forward quotes - is just like speaking in gibberish - (Speaking in tongues). There is need for an interpreter. So, please don't be afraid to confess your interpretation. Go for it. Be Bold Gibs. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. LifeHiscost Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Quote: Some can never talk about anything but obedience and commandment-keeping but then they fail to preach a gospel of grace. It's all about them and their performance. Jesus is the farthest thing from their minds. "And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:29 NKJV "...as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent...." John 17:2,3 NKJV God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
cheddar Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 So are you redeemed or not?? It's a simple question. Redeemed--how I love to proclaim it Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb I bet you hate it when they sing this song. Quote
CoAspen Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 It called 'text' splatter and 'quote' splatter, with out ryme or reason. Never give an explanation or reason. That way one can say anything they like with out any meaning or context. To whom is it useful? To the poster? I don't know! Christ seemed to have no problems explaining him self. To say that it is so simple, anyone can understand what is being said by the poster is a cop-out. This topic has become a waste of time...... Later dudes!!! Quote
LifeHiscost Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Quote: You either misunderstand or are playing the part of the accuser of the brethren. I'll assume the former. Thanks for your assumption. However if I were to plead the same, there are times that speaking the Word would give the lie to my plea. Therefor I plead only Jesus' blood as my best defense. "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."John 3:17 NKJV "Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they....cast lots." LifeHiscost Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Quote: So my message it Gibs is - FESS UP. As I under stand the Word, we are to confess our own sins. Not the sins others lay upon us. That was the way at times in history. It was called "The inquisition". Maybe we should take Gibs out and douse him until he either drowns or recants. God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
cheddar Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Quote: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Come on, that’s basic – bible 101 It’s not so much that I’m against Gibs, it’s just that so many have his same philosophy and mentality. They think commandment keeping is going to church on Saturday and eating all your vegetables. That ain’t commandment keeping. Quote
Robert Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 They think commandment keeping is going to church on Saturday and eating all your vegetables. That ain’t commandment keeping. Right...if you want to see so called law keeping in action, look at Christ's life! Who is living His life? I think Gibbs thinks he is....So blind...so deceived. Really though, let's pray for him (and I say this not as a slap in the face). We all need Christ...but those who are caught up in perfectionism are miserable! They have no rest...no peace...they have no assurance. Terrible. Many have actually committed suicide. Gibbs, let me suggest a book...it will help open your eyes.....God accepts you in your error (as He does all of us), but you are on dangerous ground with your perfectionism. The name of the book is "Laodicea" by Pastor Jack Sequeira. Here's the link: Read me Quote

The problem here is that some have such a poor and limited understanding of sin. They have watered down sin SO much to the point that they truly think they can live with out sinning. What they really need to do is to take a look at the topic of sin and how SO much more it is than what they think. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Robert Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 They have watered down sin SO much to the point that they truly think they can live with out sinning. Right...now I do believe that if one is fully resting in what Christ did 2000 years ago, that such a person can perfectly reflect Christ, but he would never know it. In fact the last generation of Christians (from all denominations - the remnant) "loved not their lives even unto death". There's no self-interests...no self love, but from their point of view they are sinners....But that's the church fully grown up. It is not what saves, rather it proves that God can fully defeat the love of self in sinners resting in Him. Again, it's not what saves....I do believe this will happen....But again, these people will be fully resting in what Christ already did...this sinless living in sinful flesh will not merit anything.... Here's Jack: Revelation 7:14: These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. They are a people “who have washed their robes and made them white” and this white robe is the righteousness of Christ imparted, folks. So here are a people who will be cleansed, who will fully reflect the character of Christ. How will this happen? By promotional programs? No. By incentives? No. But by the preaching of the Three Angels’ Message, and by our response to it. And the Three Angels’ Message is, in verity, Christ our righteousness. Can you see that God has a great plan for us, for the last generation of Christians? That plan will be realized by the Three Angels’ Message. That message will produce a people who will be able to stand in the great tribulation, and the second coming of Christ. Do you know that Christ, in His divinity, is a consuming fire? And do you know, that anything that is not covered by His righteousness, will be consumed at the second coming? Do you know that the believers will be able to stand that glory, not because they are good in themselves, but because they are clothed with the righteousness of Christ. And they will cry: “This is our God and our Saviour that we have been waiting for!” Quote
Woody Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 People are not getting better. No one in the past 2,000 years has been able to reflect Christ. I don't think it will happen now. In order for it to happen - CHRIST has to decide to MAKE it happen. After all - it's HIM that does it. ANd when HE wants it to happen - it will happen. It will not be due to some kind of 'goodness' in US. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Robert Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Like Jack says, it comes by the preaching of the gospel - the third angel's message. What is that message? Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by faith is the third angel's message, and I have answered, "It is the third angel's message in verity."-- Review and Herald, April 1, 1890. {Ev 190.3} In other words you can't add to what Christ did....We stand justified by faith. Only those who are resting in Christ can experience sinless living in sinful flesh. Again, they won't realize it....It doesn't add to what Christ did 2000 years ago. Quote

Robert Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 It will not be due to some kind of 'goodness' in US. Of course not....And many will be laid to rest because they will not be able to endure the temptation. That's why Christ said, "God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." That might include a nap before the 2nd coming....Remember, God's not out to get you....If you can't make it through the time of trouble, you'll be laid to rest. No worries... Quote

Robert Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 That message will produce a people who will be able to stand in the great tribulation, and the second coming of Christ. Do you know that Christ, in His divinity, is a consuming fire? And do you know, that anything that is not covered by His righteousness, will be consumed at the second coming? "Before him every face turns pale, and upon those whom God has rejected, falls the blackness of despair. The righteous cry with trembling, “Who shall be able to stand?” The song of the angels ceases, and there is a period of awful silence. Then the voice of Jesus is heard, saying, “My grace is sufficient for you.” The faces of the righteous are lighted up, and joy fills every heart. And the angels strike a note higher, and sing again, as they draw still nearer to the earth. The King of kings descends upon the cloud, wrapped in flaming fire. The earth trembles before him, the heavens are rolled together as a scroll, and every mountain and every island is moved out of its place." [EGW] Quote
Gibs Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I like the following quote also, "God would have his people prepared for the soon-coming crisis. Prepared or unprepared, we must all meet it. Only those whose characters are thoroughly disciplined to meet the divine standard will be able to stand firm in that testing time. But when enemies shall be on every side, watching them for evil, the God of Heaven will be watching his precious jewels for good. When secular rulers unite with the ministers of religion to come between God and our conscience, then those who cherish the fear of God will be revealed. When the darkness is deepest, then the light of a noble, Godlike character will shine the brightest. When every other trust fails, then it will be seen who have an abiding trust in God. {LP 252.1} The stronger and purer the faith of God's people, and the firmer their determination to obey him, the more will Satan stir up the rage of those who claim to be righteous, while they trample upon the law of God. In that coming emergency, rulers and magistrates will not interpose in behalf of God's people. There will be a corrupt harmony with all who have not been obedient to the law of God. In that day, all time-servers, all who have not the genuine work of grace in the heart, will be found wanting. It will require the firmest trust, the most heroic purpose, to hold fast the faith once delivered to the saints. {LP 252.2} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Woody Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 Quote: I like the following quote WE are not to go down the easy path of 'what we like'. We are to go down the hard path - the path that we may NOT like. Some want to earn their way to Heaven. For them - that is the way they gravitate to. But Christ wants us to obey truth. He wants us to get OUT of our comfort zone and totally depend upon HIM and not ourselves. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. JoeMo Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Woody and Robert, The past 2 pages have been amazing! Bless you for your insight without any judgement or condemnation! Gibs, I read your posts with the attitude that God is my loving Father than some sort of a "Dirty Harry" looking fo someone to smack, and your posts agree with what Robert and woody say! All Jesus asks us to do is to believe who He is and that He does what He says He will do. Blessings, JoeMo Quote
Gibs Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Why are you contesting me JoeMo is what I don't understand, I just gave some scripture and SOP writings and you and more want to kill me. Yes for Heavens sake He is my loving Father too and Jesus Christ also of Him and sent of Him. I do not ever say He is looking for someone to smack. But most are making it so He cannot take them into His Kingdom is the thing. You all know that it is the few who find the way, not the majority which what you and others have been advocating. Yes practically all of Christendom would make it if it is as is being preached by too many! Why do you hate me for the truth? You and others are preaching the broad way and that is not the truth. Do I stand condemned of Him? I think not. Do I stand condemned of a lot of you, I know so! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. JoeMo Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Gibs, I don't want to kill you; or even hurt your feelings! In my carelessness, I left a word out of my post. It should have read: "I read your posts with the attitude that God is my loving Father RATHER than some sort of a "Dirty Harry" looking fo someone to smack, and your posts agree with what Robert and woody say! " I do NOT condemn you; I just disagree with you. Please do not mistake my passion for grace for condemnation. I do not agree that I and others are preaching the broad way. There is a very narrow path between legalism and and totally ignoring of the law - it's called grace. Grace not only saves - it empowers us to obey. Admittedly, we don't always do so. That is why we need a Savior. I hate it when people attack me; and I SO repent making you think I did it to you! personal attacks are one of my issues with CA; and I feel like a hypocrite for making you think I attacked you. You are my brother in Christ - whether or not I agree with you all of the time. I know your heart is sincere; and I respect you for your consistency! I feel so bad. Please forgive me! I ask for the same grace from you that I ask of my Savior. I have inadvertently sinned against you; and I repent. Bless You and Happy Sabbath, JoeMo Quote

God's desire to protect His children printed in red. " “You must not have any other god besides me." God is Love" It's much more conducive to spirituality to make sure you make the rounds of all of the millions of the gods of India and elsewhere. You must not bow down to them or worship them Far easier to worship a block of stone that asks nothing of me. You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. Far more impressive when I use God's name in vain. Impresses others on how I can put God in His place. “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy Who does He think He is? The Creator of the world and all that is in it or something. Honor your father and mother. What? Give them honor just because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them and their care. The nerve. You must not murder. I can lock my doors at night. Who cares if others don't stay home where they'll be safe. You must not commit adultery. What?? What else should I spend my lust on? Talk about selfish. “You must not steal. How else am I to get as much as I want. Let others follow the rules, at least until I'm satiated. I wouldn't steal if others didn't hoard so much. You must not testify falsely against your neighbor. Why not? They called me a thief yesterday. You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.” If they didn't have so much I wouldn't have to. Since it all comes from God, why doesn't He loosen up for me. You speak to us, and we will listen. But don’t let God speak directly to us, or we will die!” “Don’t be afraid,” Moses answered them, “for God has come in this way to test you, and so that your fear of him will keep you from sinning!” What a joke, making it out like we would be better off if we all kept the rules. The Law! The Law! What a joke . Look at how much better the world is because so many people do just exactly the opposite. Give me an eternity where we'll always have the freedom to ignore the Law. Just in case it wasn't recognized, this was a parody of those suffering from delirium. God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
